The bar chart illustrates the information about people’s past four weeks’ coffee and tea purchase

behaviour in five Australian cities, namely Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide, and Hobart.
Overall, coffee and tea taken at coffee shops had the largest percentages of buyers, followed by
instant coffee and fresh coffee.
Overall, Sydney, Melbourne, and Hobart recorded the highest prevalence of residents who
preferred cafes for their tea or coffee, with just over 60% each. Brisbane followed close behind
with a slightly above 55% figure, while Adelaide recorded a little less than 50%, making it the
only city where this category did not account for the highest percentage.
Brisbane and Hobart had the greatest percentages of inhabitants who drank instant coffee, at little
under 55% each. Adelaide came in second with 50%, representing their largest percentage of
total purchases. The lowest were in Sydney and Melbourne, each with just over 45%.
Finally, Sydney and Melbourne had the largest percentage of people who drank fresh coffee, at
about 43% each. Brisbane and Adelaide had the lowest percentages at around 35%, while Hobart
came in second with roughly 40%.
