Direction: From the quotation stated above, give your point of view or reflection by writing your answer
on the space provided.

- Community may simply be a group of people who have a common interest or passion,
where people converse and share ideas about their shared enthusiasm, but what makes
community powerful are the actions of its members. Being empathetic has the ability to
inspire people to make positive changes in their neighborhoods. Utilizing their resources
and extensive reach, businesses or organizations may enable both individuals and groups to
make these contributions.

I. Identify the approach involved in each statement.

Structural Change Approach 1. The society consists of small communities and it is nothing but "a web
of relationships.
System Change Approach 2. It aims at developing strategies to either restructure or modify the system.
Structural change model 3. It aims to bring a new social order.
Community development Approach 4. This is seen in the form of civic associations.
Structural Change Approach 5. The worker tries to mobilize the public opinion to radically change the
macro-structure.
Social Work Approach 6. The society is viewed as a social organism and therefore the efforts are
oriented towards building a sense of community.

Community development Approach 8. This approach has emerged out of both the previous approaches
namely within the same neighbourhood movements.
Political Activists Approach 9. The basic philosophy of this approach is based on his thinking that "
more representative the organization the stronger the organization.

- Careful planning and preparation: Through adequate and inclusive planning, ensure that the
design, organization, and convening of the process serve both a clearly defined purpose and the
needs of the participants.
- Inclusion and demographic diversity: Equitably incorporate diverse people, voices, ideas, and
information to lay the groundwork for quality outcomes and democratic legitimacy.
- Collaboration and shared purpose: Support and encourage participants, government and
community institutions, and others to work together to advance the common good.
- Openness and learning: Help all involved listen to each other, explore new ideas unconstrained by
predetermined outcomes, learn and apply information in ways that generate new options, and
rigorously evaluate public engagement activities for effectiveness.
- Transparency and trust: Be clear and open about the process, and provide a public record of the
organizers, sponsors, outcomes, and range of views and ideas expressed.
- Impact and action: Ensure each participatory effort has real potential to make a difference, and
