Diagnosis

Diagnosis is mainly done on clinical features.

CBC, Chest X-Ray, ABGs Pulmonary Function Test.

CAUSES

Wheezing, SOB,
Tachypnea, Dyspnea, Reversible obstruction Medications,
of the small & large Sinusitis,Exercise
Chest congestion,
airways due to hyper-
Flaring of Nostrils, R.T.I, Weather
responsiveness to
Tachycardia,
various stimuli. Ingested Allergens
Agitation,C.Cynosis

TREATMENT

Supply oxygen through F.Mask or Nasal prongs.

Nebulize the client with sambutamol.

Hydrocartisone is given to prevent late phase reaction.

Hydration through N/S 20ml/Kg is done to ensure suffecient


fluid requirements.

Antibiotics is given in case of bacterial infection.

CAUSES
SIGNS & SYMPTOMS Streptococcus pneumoniae,
Pain,Dyspnea, SOB, haemophilus infuvrnzae,
staphylococcus aures and
High grade fever. mycobacterium tuberculosis

and then the disorders leads to

pleural effusion.

PLEURAL EFFUSION

A pleural effusion is an
excessive accumulation of fluid
in the plural space .

While pus in the pleural space


is called empyema.

Empyema is the most common


cause of pleural effusion in
children.

DIGNOSIS
TREATMENT
WBC Count & Blood Culture.
Treat the Pleural effusion we have to treat
the underlying condition that has causes Tuberculin Skin Test.
the p.effusion.
Chest X-Ray,Chest Ultrasonography
For large effusion drainage with chest
tube is needed. Pleural Fluid Aspiration.

Appropriate intavenous antibiotics should Microscopic Examination &Culture


be given in case of empyema or ant-
tuberculosis treatment in case of
tuberculous effusion.
