Neurone Story: The Flavor Adventure

Characters:
 Sensory Neurone (SN): Our adventure guide, responsible for transmitting messages.
 Intermediate Neurone (IN): The bridge between Sensory and Motor Neurones.
 Motor Neurone (MN): The action hero, ready to respond.
 Sensory Receptor Cell (SRC): Our special chemoreceptor, 'Flavor Finder'.
Setting: A bustling Human Taste Bud Amusement Park.
Plot:
1. Scene 1: Flavor Discovery
 SRC, a keen explorer, stumbles upon a mysterious flavor molecule, activating our
adventure.
 SRC sends a signal to SN: "Flavor Found!"
2. Scene 2: Relay Race Begins
 SN springs into action, carrying the message to the IN stationed at the 'Brain
Central Station'.
 IN gets the message: "New Flavor Alert!"
3. Scene 3: Brainy Business
 The Brain, our wise coordinator, interprets the message: "Sweet and Tangy!"
 The Brain crafts a response plan.
4. Scene 4: Action Unleashed
 The Brain instructs MN: "Activate Taste Buds!"
 MN spreads the word, and the Taste Buds cheer in excitement.
5. Scene 5: The Grand Taste Party
 The Taste Buds throw a grand party, celebrating the arrival of the delightful
flavor.
 Everyone enjoys, and the adventure concludes with smiles and satisfaction.

Learning Points:
 Sensory Neurone (SN) initiated the adventure by transmitting the flavor signal.
15.1 Control and coordination in mammals [CIE 9700}

 Intermediate Neurone (IN) played the role of a messenger, carrying the message to the
Brain.
 Motor Neurone (MN) coordinated the taste party, turning the message into action.
 Sensory Receptor Cell (SRC) detected the flavor, kicking off the entire adventure.
Discussion:
 What did you think of this Neurone Story?
 How did it represent the roles of Sensory, Intermediate, and Motor Neurones?
 Can you identify the sensory receptor cell's function in this story?
