SPFL Nihongo Cosplay Matsuri 2023

A Culmination of Japanese Modern Culture

Talakag National High School in partnership with Japan Foundation Manila celebrated the
culminating activity with a bang as the school celebrated the cosplay showcase last July 5, 2023.
More than 40 students participated as they cosplayed their favorite characters from famous
Japanese manga (comics) and anime. Cosplay generally stands for costume play and is a
performance art where the participants who are called 'cosplayers' generally wave fashion
accessories and costumes in order to represent a specific character.
SPFL teachers namely Jessa Gail Remate, Marria Luisa Casiño and Francis Ryan Salvador with the
support of their principal Dr. Samuel B. Quijardo helped the students prepare their lines as well
as how to portray the character they donned on stage.
Special recognitions and awards were given to Grade 7 and 8 students who excelled in
portraying the characters with actions and conversations.
