1. In an essay what is more attainable to fulfill? Sensual pleasures or mental tranquility?

Mental tranquility is more attainable than sensual pleasures. Connecting it to the result of
the 2022 election, for example, Robredo as the next president of the Philippines is the sensual
pleasures of the people who voted for her. However, it did not happen since Marcos won the
presidency. Now the sensual pleasure or the happiness becomes less attainable which makes
having mental tranquility important to the people. My point here is that in the Philippines setting
today, mental tranquility is attainable since a lot of people are overwhelmed by the said situation,
and everyone has to maintain mental calmness. So how are we going to obtain mental tranquility?
To obtain this, we simply have to accept loss, disregard the complicated and unwanted thoughts in
our heads, or at some point detach ourselves from stressors like social media and other factors that
might cause disturbance in our mental health. Like what I always do, whenever I feel stress-out
facing my computer screen all day long, I stop and close my eyes for a minute, or sometimes I go
out to breathe in the fresh air. This way I obtained mental tranquility. Compared to sensual
pleasures that give us the feeling of happiness, mental tranquility gives us peace of mind, mental
relief, and less stress and pressure. At the same time, it allows us to properly understand everything
around us. Being mentally tranquil boosts our ability to think, respond, and reason better, have
serenity, relaxation, and a positive outlook to navigate our lives.

2. Another essay: Is COVID Vaccination a Utilitarian approach? Why?

Yes, COVID vaccination is a utilitarian approach in the sense that everybody has the
freedom and right to get vaccinated. It is a privilege to have vaccines that we can utilize in order
to be protected. The government has implemented COVID vaccination to help the people of the
society in building barriers against the COVID virus. Such an act is for the own good of all the
people. In addition, COVID vaccination is not a threat rather it offers effective security for defense
against the spread of such disease. As well as it promotes actions that maximize the well-being of
the affected individuals. It promotes happiness, peace of mind, and safety for the general public.
Since getting COVID vaccination provides an outcome that does the most good for the most
number of people, therefore, it is considered a utilitarian approach.
