Timeline:

September 11 - 15:
● Meet with Ms. Penny
● Get approval to go to the workshop Did not get approval

September 16 - 22:
● Creating infographics on Special Needs awareness and putting them in classes Did not provide
enough information for this.
● Talk to elementary administrator about where I am needed
● Start looking at classroom availability Decided that I would be using Ms. Monica’s room or
during their classes.

September - October 20:


● Talk with mentors on goals and expectations
● Look at material that Ms. Monica has and the different grade level work
● Contact teachers Ms. Monica listed and set up meetings to learn more about different kids
● Meet with at least one of the teachers
● Make tests out of the first set of material. Decided that some review material might not be needed.
Might use my website.
● Make a website to file progress and work that I have made as well as research I have done.

October 21 - November 17:


● Matching Elementary schedule with my schedule
● Email my teachers to ask for access on certain days to work with the kids
● From looking at which schedules, ask for permission to specifically work with certain kids
● Material scavenging and making new tests
● Researching different test strategies
● Look at manipulatives that can be used in the classroom
● Look at lessons that will be taught in the classroom

November 18 - December 22:


● Look at lesson plans for the month in all classes, as well as what days are needed in the classroom
and individual work. (Elementary and High school)
● Ask teachers on days that I can’t miss. Make my schedule from there.
● Look at material used for the month.
● Possibly introducing technology related programs (kids love technology and especially when it's
really fun). Possibly splash learn!

December 23 - January 19:
● Winter Break
● Will take material home to start preparing for January and what they will be learning.
● Making tests
● Looking at progress over the break as I might assign some kids winter break work.

January 20 - February 16:


● Work on a segment for KCNN for autism awareness month. I want to make a video with possible
voice overs. Maybe ask a friend for an animation portion. (Will be published in April)
● Work on posters to advertise my project
● Work on the research portion in my website on what works and why it works as well as the
science behind learning and the different cognitive functions.

February 17 - March 22:


● Look at lesson plans for the month, work out schedules
● Look at material, make tests
● Look at progress, document all the progress of the kids
● Update my website ( refer to bottom of page of what segments I want in my website )
● Continue with Senior Seminar progress reports
● Finalize segment for KCCN to post in the first week of april
● Make guide booklets (online for all highschool, middle school, and elementary school teachers)

March 23 - April 12:\


I am aware that this project is due in March and should be wrapping up, however I feel that I can
continue outside the date as I want to continue to help the kids with what they need. April is also
autism awareness month and I would love to make a segment about this through KCNN and post
some other advertisements around the school.
