ABSTRACT

Tourism is an important industry and popular activity undertaken by millions

around the world. One important task for tourists is to plan and schedule tour to different
locations. Adding to these challenges, the need to personalize the recommended facilities
should be according to the interest preferences of tourists.
To address these issues, many researchers have studied tour recommendation
problems and proposed various algorithms for solving these problems. The large amount of
information available increases the challenge of identifying the relevant information
for the tourist. We allow users explore various destinations and attractions around the world.
The tourist life cycle consists of pre-trip, on-trip and post-trip phases Nowadays, the
information and communication technology more or less supports all three tourists’ life
cycles. In the pre-trip phase, the tourist posses a varying number of planning tools for making
the needed preparations such as for example booking an accommodation , purchasing
traveling tickets, planning etc.
Moreover, there is huge number of web sites or online communities that, in addition
to provision of support for the pre trip phase, also cover the post trip phase, e.g. capabilities
for registering tourist feedback or trip experience sharing. Other comparable tools might
enable the tourist to get tourism information while she/he enjoys the journey (on trip phase),
such as navigation, information about POIs (Point of Interest), contextual information
(weather, location, time) etc.
The tourist life cycle consists of trip information of places of We can help users save

INTRODUCTION

1.1 INTRODUCTION

We can help users save time and money. Users can quickly find the best deals, track
their expenses, and take easy decisions. Users can store all their travel-related information,
including bookings, reservations, and important documents, in one place. Users can easily
browse destinations, book accommodations, transportation and track expenses. We can help
the users to select the locations and it’s a budget friendly to the users to enjoy the places.
Moreover, there is many number of web sites or online communities that, in addition
to provision of support for the pre trip phase, also cover the post trip phase, e.g. capabilities
for registering tourist feedback or trip experience sharing. Other comparable tools, might
enable the tourist to get tourism information while she/he enjoys the journey (on trip phase),
such as navigation, information about POIs (Point of interest), contextual information.
The Tours and Travel Management System is a web-based application. The main
purpose of “Tours and travels management system” is to provide a convenient way for a
customer to book vehicle or whole package to tour purposes. The objective of the project is
to develop a system that automates the processes and activities of a travel agency. In the
project will make an easier task of searching places and for booking facilities. In the present
system a customer has to approach various agencies to find details of places and to book
tickets. System often requires a lot of time and effort.

1.2 PROBLEM STATEMENT

The evaluation framework consists of two major parts . Firstly, we identify which
planning functionalities are enabled by the touristic trip planners. Secondly, for some selected
planning functionalities, we aim to find what the depth of customization of the offered
functionality is. Planning Functionalities The varieties of planning functionalities that are
offered by trip planners are designed to help the tourist to prepare a more personalized trip

itinerary. In addition to common planning features, different trip planners choose to add
some unique planning services.
A list of planning functionalities is presented along with a comparison for existing tour
scheduling approaches. In addition to those functionalities, based on our filed studies, we
have added a number of other planning functionalities that we have considered to be relevant
for this survey. The goal is to compare the selected trip planners on whether they offer the
described functionalities.
Trip planner’s functionalities. Planning functionality Types Description Personal
Interest Estimation A means that allows taking into account personal preferences of the
tourist. Automatic selection of POI (Point of Interest) Enables selection of POIs in an automatic
way, without the need for the tourist to specify the POIs manually. Manual Selection of POIs
It allows manual selection of POI. POI directory Planning the detailed itinerary for visiting the
POI. Types of tourist attractions Navigation from a POI to another.
Mandatory POI An constraint that specifies that the tourist must visit a specific POI
(e.g. Mother Teresa statue) during the trip. Selection of POI Max n Type A constraint that
specifies that the tourist must visit maximum n POIs of certain type of POI (e.g. maximum n
palaces) during the entire trip. Below Figure 1.a indicates Evaluation framework overview.
(e.g. the tourist must visit at least one entertainment and one castle.) Scenic Routes Inclusion
of routes that have a group of POIs along their length (e.g. a down town road with many
shopping centers) Route planning the detailed itinerary for visiting the selected POIs.
Navigation Information to go from current POI to the next one.
Identification of objects at spot A functionality that would enable the tourist to
recognize the POI objects at spot. Visit intensity/pace It determines a speeding factor for
visiting POIs. Type of transportation E.g. public transportation, driving, walking Moving
around Opening Hours of POIs Planning the trip by considering the opening and closing hours
of POIs. Weather conditions Dependency to weather changes. Context dependency Current
time Dependency to current time of day.
Current location Dependency to current location of tourist. Trip sharing Possibility to
share the planned trip with other tourists. POI popularity Consideration of POI ranking made
by previous users. Social networking Tourist feedback for POIs Possibility to post comments

about POIs in post trip phase. Hotel selection Option to add an accommodation in an
automatic way. Multiple Day Decision Support Possibility to plan the trip for more than one
day.
Budget Limitations Option to set a maximum budget available for the entire trip.
Offline support provided when not connected to the internet. Reactive tour re-planning or
dynamic recalculation Possibility to regenerate the trip dynamically, by considering the visited
POIs so far & tourist context. Advanced Group profiles and tours Consideration of preferences
of a group of tourist for a joint trip.
Customization level In this survey, we have noticed that certain trip planners for some
of their functionalities, in addition to providing a particular feature, they offer customizing it
by enabling to choose between a predefined options list. The functionalities considered to be
customized include A Survey on Tourist Trip Planning Systems navigation, identification of
objects at spot, type of transportation and group profiles & tours. Other specific
functionalities that may be unique for individual trip planners are outlined in the latter section
fore-view.

Fig 1.a Evaluation of Framework

Survey structure , several types of travel destinations can be distinguished, comprising

alpine, rural and urban destinations. Since, most of the state of the art trip planners are mainly
focused in offering planning functionalities for urban and inter urban destinations, this paper
focuses in urban/inter urban destination type. In this survey, select four touristic trip planners
that have been developed in recent past. We focus to select those trip planners that at least
implement, both features for estimating tourist interest and offer routing functionalities.

2.2 Description:

Planning Functionalities
The home page shows the option for selecting one of the envisioned cities for planning
the trip. There is a possibility to create a personal profile that will, in latter stages, allow saving
the planned trip. Under the menu “Things to do”, it lists the directory of available POIs (in
different cities) that are classified in various categories, namely Various buildings, Castles,
Churches Cemeteries, Museum, Nature, Statues and “Seven wonders”.

Customization Level

Estimation of personal interest is made by allowing the user to express her/his

preferences (in range form 0-not interested to 3-absolutely interested) about different
touristic attractions types and categories. The POI selection can be done either automatically
or manually. In addition, there is a possibility to search for particular POIs based in a key word.
The system allows assigning must see POIs and includes the possibility to pass through a road
that has many POIs along its length (scenic routes). Concerning the moving around service,
the system generates an optimal multiple day route plan with the possibility to view different
routes of different days in a digital map. No other navigation service, such as navigating from
a POI to another, is provided. Two different types of traveling, namely driving and walking,
are considered. While, none of the context dependency features are considered, the system
includes a feature to allow tourist to express their experiences abut visits to particular POIs.

Tourism management is the oversight of all activities related to the tourism and
hospitality industries. It's a multidisciplinary field that prepares people with the interest,
experience, and training for management positions in the food, accommodations,
and tourism industry.

Data Flow Diagram Also known as DFD, Data diagrams are used to graphically
represent an own of data in a business information system. DFD describes the processes that
are involved in a system to transfer data from the input to the file storage and reports
generation. Data flow diagrams can be divided into logical physical. The logical data own

SYSTEM ARCHITECTURE & ALGORITHM

3.1 System Architecture

A system architecture diagram would be used to show the relationship between

different components. Usually, they are created for systems which include hardware and
software and these are represented in the diagram to show the interaction between them.
1st module is agency module in which agency can add or update the packages, view users’
feedback and also payment gateway. In this Module agency can edit the existing information
of tour as well as vehicle rental.

2nd Module is Admin Module in which Admin can view the detail information filled in the
system and Also can See the details of user, can reply to the user and also handle the entire
website.

3rd Module is User Module in which User can see detail information of packages of both
tour and car. Can book packages and also do online payment with email verification facility.

management. It’s basic overview of the whole Management System or process being analyzed
or modeled. It’s a designed to be an at-a-glance view of Transportation and tour. Showing the
system as a single high-level process, with its relationship to external entities of Travel Agent,
Customer and admin.

Level 1 DFD First Level DFD of Tour and Travel Management System shows how the system
is divided into sub-systems, each of which deals with one or more of the data flows to or form
an external agent, and which together provide all of the functionality of the Tour and Travel
Management System as a hole. It also identifies internal data stores of Registration, Login,
booking, payment, Email verification, give feedback that must be present in order of the
system to do its job and show the flow of data between various parts of website.

3.1 ALGORITHM

Coding is the process of transforming the design of the system into a computer
language format. This coding phase of software development is concerned with software
translating design specification into the source code. In the coding phase, developers start to
build the entire system by writing code using the chosen programming language. the coding
phase, tasks are divided into units or modules and assigned to the he various developers. It is
the longest phase of the Software Development Life Cycle process. During the
implementation process, developers must write enough comments inside the cde so that
anybody starts working on the code later on the user is able to understand what has already
been written.

FEATURES IN PROJECT: Various Modules are integrated in website so as to perform various

operations. Modules in the project are enlisted as follows.

AUTHENTICATION: Here are 3 logs in system for user, admin and for agencies. If user already
have an account and enters credential correctly Then he can login by using page. Even
agencies and admins can log in to website for uploading packages and manage the data etc.

EMAIL VERIFICATION: Email Verification module provide security to user before any

process like log in, payment system and car or package booking etc.

BOOKING SYSTEM: User can book tour packages and also car for tourism purpose. Booking
is one of the main modules of the website.

ADMIN DASHBOARD: Dashboard module provides facility to admin of manage the users and
data. And also, admin can reply to user on queries.

Tour and travel management is important to every tourist; in existing websites user
can’t find packages from different agencies. So, comparison between prices, facilities and
other component is not possible. Also, for car/bike rental user have to find different website
which is really time consuming.

Now a day’s everyone wants an online platform where user can find all types of tour
and car packages from various websites which is open for 24/7 with enquiry facilities. So, the
proposed system is fulfilling all these issues with email verification for security. ‘Tours and
Travels Management System’ is developed to replace the currently existing system, which
helps in keeping records of the customer details of destination as well as payment received.

HTML: HTML stands for Hyper Text Markup Language. HTML is the standard markup language
for creating Web pages. HTML describes the structure of a Web page. HTML consists of a
series of elements. HTML elements tell the browser how to display the content.

CSS: CSS is designed to enable the separation and presentation, including layout, colours,
and fonts. This separation can improve content provide more flexibility and control in the
specification of presentation characteristics; enable multiple web pages to share formatting
by specifying the relevant CSS in a separate .css file, which reduces complexity and repetition
in the structural content; and enable the .css file to be cashed to improve the page load speed
between the pages that share the file and its formatting.

6.2 FUTURESCOPE
In the proposed approach, It has considered The Tours and Travel
Management System is a web-based application. The main purpose of “Tours and travels
management system” is to provide a convenient way for a customer to book vehicle or whole
package to tour purposes. The objective of the project is to develop a system that automates
the processes and activities of a travel agency. In the project will make an easier task of
searching places and for booking facilities. In the present system a customer has to approach
various agencies to find details of places and to book tickets. System often requires a lot of
time and effort. The purpose of system provides approach skills to critically examine how a
tourist visits and its ability to operate in an appropriate way when dealing with the
consequences of tourism, locally, regionally, and nationally including visitor security and
ecological influences. System is tedious for a customer to plan a particular journey and have
it executed properly. The project ‘Tours and Travels Management System’ is developed to
replace the currently existing system, which helps in keeping records of the customer details
of destination as well as payment received.
