II PROJECT DESCRIPTION
A Rationale/Background We, the Bachelor of Secondary Education Major in Mathematics third year
class (BSED 3A), in collaboration with the Society of Mathematics Students
(SMS), an academic organization providing academic wellness in Mathematics
and allied areas within the institution and the community. To bring academic
excellence and awareness for the students, teachers, and the community
through sense of cooperation and partnership.

As per requirement of our Calculus III and for the preparation of each third year
student as we are now nearly in the internship program of our institution, we
intend to become effective, efficient, and innovative teachers of the future.

The BSED 3A class, in collaboration with the SMS aim to conduct an outreach
program entitled “Project Tuon: Unlimited Opportunity on Numeracy”. It’s goal
is to educate and help grade 7 and 8 non-numerates students from Marcelino
R. Veloso National High School by teaching numerical literacy through fun and
exciting activities twice a month for two months, from November 10, 2023 -
December 15, 2023. Spearheaded by the 3rd year students taking the Bachelor
of Secondary Education Major in Mathematics and in collaboration with the
Society of Mathematics Students (SMS).
B Objectives
Promote interest and enthusiasm. Spark curiosity and interest in Mathematics among
1 General the grades 7 and 8 non-numerates students from Marcelino R. Veloso National High
School.
2 Specific
1. Improve numeracy skills. Enhance basic numerical and mathematical
skills, including sets, integers, fundamental operations on integers and
basic problem solving.
2. Foster critical thinking. Develop participants' ability to think critically,
solve problems, and apply mathematical concepts to real-world
situations.
3. Facilitate interactive learning. Implement hands on activities,
workshops, and group exercises to promote active engagement and
experiential learning.
4. Measure and evaluate progress. Establish methodsto assess the
impact and effectiveness of the outreach program, such as through pre-
and post-program assessments.

C Expected Output The participants are expected to;

Dear Ma’am/Sir,

REF: PERMISSION TO HOST EVENT

On behalf of our class, I am requesting permission to conduct our

as a part of our NSTP Extension Work and use your as the grounds
for the said event. I have already told the rest of our class to start preparing the things needed and
we are really excited. Rest assured that all health protocols will be observed and followed.

The event will be held so I wanted to know in advance if I could book the court
for use on May.

If possible, it would be better if we could have the venue an hour or two before. This should
provide ample time for us to prepare the things needed. The event is scheduled to start at
AM and we may not have enough time to set up.
The event should be completed by PM so as to give enough time for the designated team
to clean the court and leave it ready for use. Thank you for your time.

Yours faithfully,
