NDGOP UPDATES
Dear North Dakota Roughriders,
Three presidential campaigns, Gov. Doug Burgum, former President Donald J. Trump, and former
U.N. ambassador, Nikki Haley have completed all requirements for the NDGOP Presidential Caucus
to be held March 4, 2024, in Fargo.
Presidential access to the ballot was restricted to those candidates who have filed with the FEC; gathered
signatures from ten members of the NDGOP State Committee; and submitted payment of $20,000 to the
North Dakota Republican Party by Dec. 31, 2023.
All national GOP presidential campaigns have reached out to the NDGOP for more information
about the caucus.
“Each Republican presidential candidate who was in the last debate has contacted us to learn the
requirements of competing in the March contest and have been provided the necessary forms and
deadlines” said Robert W. Harms, Chairman of the Presidential Caucus Committee.
Two campaigns had representatives at the Oct.13 State Committee to secure
signatures needed to qualify for the ballot. “The North Dakota Caucus is the evening before “Super
Tuesday” which may influence votes in other states” said Harms.
“Because of the timing and its potential influence on the national scene, we expect continued
interest and that other candidates will qualify in the weeks ahead”, Harms continued.
Republicans across the state will gather to vote for their preferred presidential candidate on March 4, in
Williston, Minot, Devils Lake, Grand Forks, Fargo, Jamestown, Bismarck and Dickinson.
Other polling places maybe developed in other districts. Voting will be from 5:00 to
8:00 Central Time (4:00 to 7:00 Mountain Time). North Dakota’s 38 delegates will then be bound to the
candidate at the Republican National Convention based upon the votes cast in North Dakota.
“Republicans should mark their calendars and be prepared to vote on March 4, 2024, as this gives
North Dakota a chance to make its mark on who will be the Republican nominee for President of
our great country”, said Sandi Sanford, NDGOP Chairwoman.
