Legend of Lake Tondano

That said, this lake was formed due to the wrath of nature due to child marriages
from the North and South Tonaas.
Tonaas was a power leader who at the time inhabited two camps on high mountain.
Told, these two leaders also have children.
It is said that North Tonaas was blessed with a daughter named Marimbaiuw while
South Tonaas had s son named Maharimbouw. As a child the two never met because of the
difference in the region.
However, in the beginning this problem occurred because Marimbouw, who was the
only child of North Tonaas, was a girl. This becomes a barrier to the successor to power and
the throne.
Then, his father asked him to behave and dress like a man and take an oath not to
marry so that the throne would descend to him. That promise was witnessed by the
surrounding community and he also studied martial arts to explore male character.
Marimbouw’s cover is exposed Once upon a time, Marimbouw was hunting and got
lost in the forest. However, his whereabouts were suspected by Maharimbouw and
immediately arrested him.
During his arrest, Marimbouw’s cover was immadiately opened and his long hair was
loose. This is what made Maharimbouw fall in love with him.
Since then, the two of them have had a secret relationship. In the end,
Maharimbouw decided to propose to Maharimbouw but was refused because of the
agreement Marimbouw had made to his father.
An earthquake formed Lake Tondano. Both Maharimbouw and Marimbouw finally
got married. Not long after that, because the agreement was violated, nature was angry and
suddenly there was an earthquake and an eruption from the mountain that formed Lake
Tondano.
