Guidelines and Judging Criteria Pop and Inst Solo
SPECIFIC GUIDELINES
• The contestant should be a bona fide student enrolled in any of the programs offered by
CONHS.
• The contest will be held at 3rd floor Convention Center ( insert time).
• Each troops shall have one (1) representative. Failure to send a representative means a
deduction of three (3) points from the total troop’s score.
• The contestant shall sing straight published Original Pilipino Music (OPM) songs in any
language (prepare translations as needed). Rearrangement or revival of an OPM song is
allowed. Revival or adaptations from foreign compositions is disallowed.
• Singing shall be accompanied by a minus one. Multiplex, karaoke/videoke, and live
accompaniment shall not be allowed. Soft/electronic copy (MP3/MP4 format) shall be
provided to the council one (1) day prior the event schedule for compilation.
• Delivery of each piece is for 3-7 minutes.
• Judges’ decision is final and irrevocable.

SPECIFIC GUIDELINES
• The contestant should be a bona fide student enrolled in any of the programs offered by
CONHS.
• The contest will be held at 3rd floor Convention Center ( insert time).
• Each troops shall have one (1) representative. Failure to send a representative means a
deduction of three (3) points from the total troop’s score.
• The following will be the same sequence of solo instruments for annual competition (2015-
classic guitar (nylon string); 2016-violin; 2017-piano: 2018-banduria respectively).
• The music piece shall be one straight piece and any of the following:
• Ryan Cayabyab
• George Canseco
• Francisco Buencamino, Sr.
• Antonio Molina
• Lucrecia Kasilag
• The participant are require to supply their own musical instrument.
• Grand or upright piano will be used for the National Level. In the Regional level, if no upright
piano is available, electronic piano/keyboard with 88 keys in piano mood setting can be used.
• The title of the piece, arranger, composer, and songwriter must be submitted to the board of
Judges one (1) day before the start of the competition. One (1) point deduction for late
submission of pieces.
• The master of ceremonies shall announce the title and composer of the piece.
• Time starts on the first note produced. Performance shall be 3-5 minutes. Beyond this limit, a
total of (5) points will be deducted from the total score a each Judge
