Speaking Part 1

Family
What size family do you come from?

-Well, i come from a small sized family.I only have one brother.My parents are divorced,
however, my dad remarried but, I don’t have any step siblings.

What are your parents like?

-To start off with my mother, she is really kind hearted, she always tries to help me with
everything she can.For example, she helps me a lot with my school work. She likes to stay at
home and watch movies with me, we usually watch films on every weekend.On the other
hand, my father is really sporty, he goes for a run every day and he likes to take me with
himself aswell. He is really funny too.He always jokes about everything, and he makes me
laugh a lot.

Who do you take after your family and why?

-At first sight, it seems like I look a lot like my mother.People always tell me how much our
eyes and mouths are the same, but i don’t really see it.However, my personallity is more like
my fathers. I’ve tried a lot of sports in my life, for example, i did gymanstics, i used to swim, i
tried carate and i played volleyball too.I really like doing sports.

What are the advantages and disadvantages of large families?

-To start off with the benefits of living with a lot of family members,it can be really good to
be around your loved ones all day. If you have a great relationship with your siblings, then,
you can have a lot of fun.For instance, you can joke about anything that is happening to you,
because siblings usually have the same humor.At the same time, being around the same
people for a really long time can be annoying. For example, you may want some privacy at
the end of the day, but because of your family, you always have to be around each other.You
have to listen tot he others telling you about something even if you are tired and want to
sleep already.

School subjects

What subjects did you enjoy studying at school when you were little? Why?

-First of all, when i was in middle school, my favourite subject was art. I really liked the idea f
drawing or painting something on a piece of paper. I loved coloring especially. Also, my other
favourite subject was history.I found it really interesting and i loved learning about the past.I
was really good at both of these subjects too.

What after school activities did you enjoy at school?

-In my school, there are a lot of after school activities. For example, there are three kinds of
ballgames, basketball, floorball and volleyball. I’ve tried volleyball, and i really enjoyed
 it.Sometimes i go to volleyball practise nowadays too.There are also dance and chess class,
i’ve tried dancing, but i had to quit it because i don’t have any time for it now.

Which subjects are/were you poor at?

-Since elementary shool, i’ve always been bad at maths.I never understood it, and to this day,
i find it really hard to get a good grade from it.I also had a lot of problems with physics,
mostly because it has a lot of maths in it. Also, I was never, and i don’t think i’ll ever be keen
on these subjects, so it’s always hard for me to sit down and pay attention to it.

How can a teacher influence whether you like or dislike a subject?

-In my opinion, a teacher can define a student’s attitude to a class. On one side, if a teacher is
really kind, and helpful, then the children feels more comfortable during the class.Student’s
behavior can depend on whether they like the teacher or not.However, on the other hand, if
the teacher is unfair to the students, they can be lazier or pay less attention to the class
because they don’t like a teacher.

House and home

Do you like the place where you are living?Why/why not?

-If we are talking about Esztergom, i really like to live here. I love the city because it has
beautiful sights.On the other hand, if we are talking about the area where i live, i’d say i really
enjoy living here.I live in a housing estate, and luckily it is a very clean area here at the
outside of the city.Apperantly, i live ont he fourth floor so i have a beautiful wiew of the
mountains on the other side of the Danube.

Would you prefer to live in a house or a flat?why?

-I’ve lived in a flat since i was born, so i’ve never lived in a house before.However, my dad
lives in a house with her wife and they live in a house. I spend a little time there, but i’d like
to live in a house more.In my opinion, it is really great if you have a garden where you can go
out anytime of the day, you can have animals and maybe even have plants.

If you could change anything about your present home, what would it be?

-i would love to have a bigger room, because in my present room, i only have enough space
for a bed, a desk, a wardrobe and a shelf.I’d love to have enough space for a bigger bed and a
more designed wardrobe, because my current wardrobe is a bit messy due to the fact that it
is small, so i cant fit all my clothes in it perfecly.

What kind of pets would you keep in your home?

i’d love to have atleast two cats, because they are my favourite animals.I really like them,
because they are beautiful and extremely cute.I would also like a dog because of how loyal
and kind they are.In my past i had a dog and i loved that whenever i came home, he was
waiting for me to play with him.
Living abroad

Which country would you like to live in and why?

-I know for sure, that i don’t want to live in Hungary in the future. I’d love to find out how life
is in other countries.I’m not sure about which country i want to live in yet, but i’m thinking
somewhere in England. I find the Enlish culture really attractive and i would like to see it for
myself.I’m planning a holiday somewhere in England during the summer, so i’m really excited
about it.

Why do some people move to other countries?

-If we are talking about young people, the reason of them moving away can be because of
studying. Studying abroad ha sa lot of advantages for example, learning a new language.If we
are talking about adults, It can be because they have a better work opportunity, or just want
to find out how life is in other countries.However we can also think about holiday people,
who only visits a country for a period of time.They can also get in the mood to move to
another country if they liked the visit there.

If you could choose one place to live, where would it be?Why?

-I would love to live somewhere in England, especially in London.In my wiew,this place is

really attractive, the English culture is really interesting, the people are so kind and the
whole London city is just beautiful.

What would you miss most if you live abroad?

-I guess i would really miss my family and my friends.Of course i would keep in touch with
them, but i think sometimes i would be homesick a bit and really miss my old life.

Fashion

Who is the most fashionable in your family?

-I would say my brother is the most fashionable, because he is the only one who really cares
about the brands of the clothes.He doesn’t wear any cheap branded cloth, he wreally likes
the expensive brands for instance, Calvin Clein.

Why is fashion important?

-In my opinion, people can express their personality by their style. If someone wears colorful,
patterned clothes, it can cause to other people to think that this person is really delighted
and kind. However, if someone only wears black clothes, it can show that this person isn’t in
a good mood.Jewellery can show a lot of things too.For example, wearing tons of rings,
necklaces can be stylish, but can look really unflattering.However if there is a pretty bracelet
or nacklace on someone, it can make the outfit better.

How can you be fashionable without spending money?

-In my opinion, nowadays, you need money for everything.However, if you don’t want to
spend money on branded clothes, but still want to be fashionable, you can just create your
own style of the clothes your alredy own.You can try out new outfits, see which clothes look
 good together, put on some jewellery and you have your own style already.I don’t think
being fashionable is that important, but it can be in someone’s life.

What is your favourite article of clothing and why?

-To be honest, i don’t really read articles about clothing. I’m not that interested in fashion, I’d
rather wear what i like. However, in my past I’ve seen a lot of articles like this, and i
remember my favourite was nike. I liked the sporty style so i often bought clothes from them.
