IMPORTANCE OF GOOD NUTRITION

The amount of nutritious diet that the students take has a great impact especially in this
time of pandemic. Learners need energy booster and a well- functioning immune system which
may lead them to be able to combat illness now that they are back to school. The three food
groups can sustain the vitamins and minerals needed by the body.
First, the "Go" food is the energy giving. Eating food which belongs to this group keeps
the body fuelled up for the activities in the school. It is rich in carbohydrates like the bread,
rice, and pasta which can be served for breakfast. Once eaten, carbohydrates turn into sugar
which is a good source of energy from glucose. Next, the "Grow" food is rich in protein which
are also good in the body because they are responsible for bone and muscle development.
Finally, the "Glow" food which makes the skin glowing and acts as antioxidants. Fruits and
vegetables are examples of this group.
It has to be remembered that good nutrition does not only make the body healthy, but it
also plays an important role in having a good mental state. Having a healthy body leads to a
peaceful mind. Students who eat nutritious food most likely will have good immune system.
They do not get sick easily and can go to school regularly. They also perform academically and
socially.
