MODULE 1
INTRODUCTION TO GLOBALIZATION
Intro-instruction: Since the basic concept of globalization is not new to all of us, let us all illicit your prior
knowledge about the concept and merge it with your present understanding. Students (by pairs) should be
able to define, explain, and express their understanding about Globalization.
The students may think of any word that is connected to any globalization concepts by which letters shall
be used in crafting their self-definitions.
Criteria:
• 10 points max - factual, complete, accurate, concise, comprehensive, and efficient relay of ideas.
• 5 points max - Proper technical use of the Acrostic strategy.

G - Growing Interconnectedness: Globalization refers to the increasing interconnectedness and
interdependence of countries, economies, cultures, and people around the world.
L - Limitless Information Flow: With the advent of technology and the internet, information
can now be exchanged across borders instantaneously, allowing ideas, news, and knowledge to
spread globally.
O - Opening Borders: Globalization has led to the liberalization of trade and the opening of
borders to facilitate the movement of goods, services, and people across nations.
B - Bridging Cultures: Different cultures come into contact, leading to the exchange of
traditions, languages, art, and ideas, creating a diverse and interconnected global cultural
landscape.
L - Labor Mobility: Globalization has allowed people to move more freely for work and
educational opportunities, contributing to a global workforce and brain drain phenomenon.
I - Interdependence of Economies: National economies are now more intertwined than ever, as
trade, investment, and financial systems connect countries in complex ways.
A - Access to Global Markets: Businesses can reach consumers all around the world, expanding
their markets and potential customer base.
T - Transnational Issues: Globalization has highlighted the need for collective action on issues
like climate change, terrorism, and human rights that transcend national boundaries.
