13) An athlete's ankle hurts while playing volleyball. Cold compresses are applied to the injured
area by using cooling packs prepared in sealed sealed packages to reduce the swelling and
remove the bruise in the first intervention. These packages contain solid NH 4NO3 and H2O.
There are two compartments with a dice inside the package. There is H2O in one
compartment and solid NH4NO3 in the other. The permeable membrane between the
chambers allows NH4NO3 to mix with H2O. How do these packages perform cooling?
