1. Where are you from/ Where is your hometown?
 I was born and grew up ____city/ Province, which is located in the South/ North/ West/ Central
part of Vietnam. I have a sense of happiness to be here because this place is really on the move with
higher living standard and a lot of entertainment attractions [trung tâm giải trí], shopping mall
[shopping centre: trung tâm mua sắm] or chain store [chuỗi cửa hàng đồ hiệu] as well as this place has given
me good memories since my childhood
 I live in Ho Chi Minh city. It’s a huge, bustling, international city. People from all over the word
live and work there. Also, this place is got such a rich culture and there is always something
interesting going on.
 Ho Chi Minh city is a great place to live. It is a real 24-hour city and you can meet people from all
over the world.

I was born and raised in a family on the outskirts of [ở vùng ngoại ô] Đong Thap province. The village where I lived has
an idyllic atmosphere. Although I have been living in the city centre for my study for the better part of [phần lớn] the last
4 years, I always get back to my village to escape from the hectic pace of city life [thoát khỏi nhịp sống xô bồ ở thành
phố] on weekends.

2. Do you like your hometown?


 Well, definitely yes. I love my hometown so much. You know, simply because
- Firstly, my hometown has a lot of tourist attractions where I can come and meet
international visitors to improve my English ability.
- Secondly, my hometown is idyllic to blow off some steam after the stress every day.
- Especially, this place is so great when I live close to my family, my friends and even it has
become my home sweet home.
3. How about the cost of living in your hometown?

Well, to be honest, my hometown is a metropolis, so the cost of living is extremely expensive/

Well, to be honest, my hometown is a rural area, so the cost of living is cheap as chips for all
products such as food, fruits and vegetables. So, you are able to live comfortably with a low
income.

Well, to be honest, my hometown is a metropolis, so the pace of life is hectic and hustle and
bustle [n]. Specially, at night, this place is vibrant [sôi động] with a lot of entertainment
attractions, shopping mall or lively bars. So, you will never get bored when you are living

there but Sometimes you should take the time to visit your hometown to

Well, to be honest, my hometown is a rural area, so the pace of life here is very slow, and the
atmosphere/ ambience is idyllic/ peaceful/ tranquil and gentle. You will see trees, forests,
streams [suối], and even you will hear the birds singing in the morning.

 Well, to be honest, my hometown has gained a reputation for tourist destinations and
historical sites, such as Duc Ba church the most famous church in my country. For example,
every year millions of tourists from all over the world would like to visit my hometown
especially visiting the Duc Ba church. Also, Minh Mang temple is a famous place of
interest with thousands of year’s history, attracting many travelers every year in my
hometown. Believe it or not, I’m sure, when you come to my hometown, you will love it at
first sight [ngay từ cái nhìn đâu tiên].
6. How has your hometown changed in recent years? [MAPS]

neighbours see each other as strangers.

I’m living in the centre of Hanoi where there are tons of town-house complexes and high-rises. These
housing units are built to accommodatea tidal wave of people gravitating towards the city in search
of work.

 Ho Chi Minh city is great, but the cost of living is really high. That can
be quite stressful because you’re always thinking about money and
