ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE

Summary

Artificial intelligence has emerged as an innovative force in various fields in society, and its impact on
education has been no exception. This article critically examines how AI can transform the
educational experience from the perspective of learners. It explores the opportunities AI offers to
personalize learning, improve teaching efficiency, and cultivate today's skills. As technology evolves,
it is essential that students understand and actively participate in the integration of AI in education.

Introduction

According (Moreno Padilla, 2019), The artificial intelligence and its myriad algorithms and machine
learning capabilities are rapidly redefining the educational landscape. Personalizing learning to
automating administrative processes, AI holds promise as a tool for improving the quality of
education. AI in education isn't just a set of sophisticated algorithms; it is the bridge between theory
and practical application. From personalizing the learning process to providing instant feedback and
adapting to individual learning styles, artificial intelligence not only automates tasks, but also
enhances the human ability to learn and teach. This article seeks to explore ways in which AI can
enrich the student experience and address ethical and social issues.

Development

Artificial Intelligence is not just a classmate, but also a mentor that adapts to the unique pace of each
student. The ability to tailor instruction to individual needs can transform education, giving each
learner the tools needed to reach his or her full potential. By analyzing learning patterns, technology
can create personalized curricula, optimizing knowledge retention and promoting more meaningful
learning, as the student not only improves their academic results, but also fosters an inclusive and
equitable learning environment. For us, as language learners, it is an advantage, of course, to study
autonomously, as there are various applications, such as mobile apps, and a variety of free
downloadable programs and online education systems, such as Carnegie Speech or Duolingo, offer
foreign language training using technologies such as Automatic Speech Recognition (ASR) and
Neurolinguistic Programming (NLP) techniques. These tools are used to identify errors in the
language of your users and help correct them.

For teachers, the automation of administrative tasks allows them to focus on more interactive and
stimulating activities, as AI can manage task evaluation, provide instant feedback and analyze data
to identify areas for improvement. This not only optimizes teacher time, but also facilitates a more
individualized approach to instruction, improving the overall quality of education.
In a technology-driven world, 21st century skills such as critical thinking, problem solving and
collaboration are essential, and AI can be a valuable ally by integrating these skills into the
educational curriculum. Through simulations and virtual environments, students can apply theoretical
knowledge to real-world situations, preparing them for future challenges. Despite its benefits, the
integration of AI in education raises ethical and social challenges such as: data privacy, equity in
access to technology, and potential loss of employment for education professionals are valid
concerns. These issues need to be addressed to ensure that AI benefits all students, regardless of
their socioeconomic background.

While quality education will always require active engagement of human teachers, AI-based formats
promise a very substantial improvement in education at various levels, with an unprecedented
qualitative improvement: providing the learner with accurate personalization tailored to his or her
requirements, thus solving the somewhat paradigmatic process of how to achieve better integration
between various forms of human interaction and face-to-face learning with promising new
technologies supported by AI. The material achievement of such a great process, for the time being,
remains a key challenge. At present, the contextual situation reveals that universities in Peru, mainly
public ones, have been slow in incorporating Artificial Intelligence (AI)-based technologies. This
phenomenon can be attributed, in part, to the lack of financial resources and the absence of solid
studies highlighting the predominant importance of these technologies, which, as elsewhere in the
world, have the potential to support students in achieving meaningful educational goals, hopefully in
the future will be incorporated and put to practical and useful use. ( Ocaña Fernández, Valenzuela
Fernández, & Garro Aburto, 2019)

In Peru, adopting AI should entail finding a middle ground between innovation and ethical concerns.
It is vital to prioritize educating people about AI's capabilities and limitations to ensure responsible
advancement and application. Promoting collaboration among the government, industry, and
academia can foster a sustainable AI environment. Achieving this balance will empower Peru to
leverage the potential of AI while preserving societal values and inclusivity.

In conclusion, artificial intelligence has the potential to radically transform education, providing
exciting opportunities to personalize learning, improve teaching efficiency, and cultivate essential
skills. However, it is crucial to address the associated ethical and social challenges to ensure that the
integration of AI in education is equitable and beneficial to all students. Students play a vital role in
this process, as they must understand, question, and actively participate in the evolution of artificial
intelligence in education. Moreover, it is not only a complement in education, but a catalyst for the
comprehensive transformation of the educational process. By embracing AI, we are opening the
doors to a more inclusive, personalized and relevant education. Resistance to change may be natural,
but the adoption of artificial intelligence in education is more than an evolution; it is a necessary
revolution to prepare future generations for an increasingly complex and technological world.
