Focus Points:
At the end of the lesson, you should be able to:

1. identify the animals in their habitats in your

immediate surroundings;
2 identify the body parts of animals used for moving,
eating, and protecting against enemies; and
3. explain how certain parts of animals help in its
survival and protection.
Observe the following animals.

Parts for Locomotion
Locomotion is the ability to move.
Animals that Walk, Run, Gallop, Jump, and Hop
Animals that Crawl or Slither

abdominal muscles
Animals that Fly
Animals that Swim
Parts that Enable them to Live in their Habitat
Habitat – the place where an animal lives
- the place where they get food and air
ANIMALS WITH LEGS
Most animals with legs live on land. Animals that
live on land are called terrestrial animals.

Arctic/Polar Habitat Underground Habitat
Some desert animals live in burrows and dens.
Animals with gills and fins
Animals that live in water are called aquatic animals.
These animals can be marine or sea animals and
freshwater animals.
Some animals that can live both on land and in
water have special body parts that enable them to do so.

Camouflage – ability of animals to protect themselves
against their enemies or predators in order to survive
by blending in with their environment.
