Chapter 1, BALLI

Act 1, Scene 1
Ambience: dark with a dim light at the end of the room.
Props required: kaali murti with all accessories , stone sacrificial table, white ghamcha/cloth
Characters: Bose Babu (Ehsan), Peasant (Swagato), 2 chela
Camera Position: 25mtr apart from the Idol. Focus on Bose babu leg and chappal.

Takla Aadmi Sir jhuka raha hai.

Starting the light and action, we enter the dark and dimmed warehouse with a light shining in the background and
keeping with the pace of the camera we start moving forward.
The focus is on Bose Babu’s sandals, where we are showing him performing his prayers to kali maa and is chanting
mantras.
We now shift the focus from the puja to the people coming from the background.
Swagato and 2 chelas enter the scene. Swagato is being dragged by the 2 chelas from his shoulders and they go
towards the sacrificial stone/table and gets thrown over it. Swagato’s face is all covered in Blood and Sweat.

Focus is now back at Bose Babu and we start with his legs gradually moving towards his upper body.
We are yet to reveal his face.
Bose Babu completes his prayer and starts moving towards Swagato.
The camera is moving along with his leg and as he advances, the camera focus shifts from his legs to the bloody face
of Swagato who is lying ahead on the sacrificial stone.
The devilish background musing is playing here.
After a small walk, Bose Babu comes near Swagato and squats down. In that scene, we show half of his face as he
snarls by looking at Swagato. Bose Babu walks towards Swagato chanting his mantras.

Bose Babu:
“ 4 saal se sukha para hai, 4 saal sel.
Mone hoi, Maa rege ache. Ab Maa ko kush to karna hoga aur Meri Maa ko kush karne ke liye mujhe pata hai kya
karna hai. Tui Jaanish ota ki? Kehte hai bali jab bhi do humesha dil se deni chahiye aur Maa ko dil se zada aur kya
kush kar sakta hai?! Aur tu unme se hai, jin hone mujhe mere dil se door kiya, to aaj tera Dil se hi mai, maa ke dil tak
pahuchunga. ”
Swagato:
“ Nai, Nai Bose Babu. Khoma kore dao. Khoma kore dao”
Bose Babu:
“Khoma Kore dao. Vo kya hota hai. Insaan ko khoma karna to hum 4 saal pehle hi chor diye. Ab to sirf Maa ko kush
karna hai.”
One of the Chelas brings the weapon to kill Swagato. Bose take the weapon and bring Swagato’s ear close to him and
starts chanting mantras.
Swagato is in tears and says
“Khoma Babu, Khoma……”

Camera position: Starting from bose heels and sandal with a 15* degree angle,right feet is visible and left is 35%.
Focus is on Bose’s sandals and camera moves up.
Focus is now on Bose’s thigh and swagato’s face is blurred.
Focus then shifts to Swagato’s face and the thigh is blur.
Bose throws him down on his back to the ground and stabs his chest and tries piercing it. Bose rips his chest apart
and smashes Swagato’s chest with the back of the knife. His white ghamcha gets soaked in blood and bloods drips
down his hand and the floor is all bloody.
We show a monster in Bose Babu as he smashes Swagato’s chest with the back of the knife. His face is all covered in
blood. The 2 chelas in the back are horrified as they see their Head/boss in such a wild rage. Bose keeps on smashing
the chest and his hand gets submerged/vanishes in Swagato’s chest as it bursts and Bose Babu’s hand stops.
Swagato lies dead with his neck and chest covered in blood.
Bose Babu takes out his hand with Swagato’s heart still live and beating. There is a moment of pause and the focus
which was on 2 Chela’s face now shifts back to Bose Babu’s hand who starts walking back towards Kali Maa’s Murti
and is holding Swagato’s heart in his hand.
Bose Babu stands in front of Maa’s Murti and raises his hand up high towards Murti. His head is down till now. Blood
is dripping from his hand, vo Chuu ke bose ke watch me girta hai and he raises his head.
We now show his face, covered in blood and his eyes are red and expresses his anger and happiness.
Bose Babu:
“Aee Maa. Dhonnobad Maa. Dhonnobad. 4 saal se tune mujhe iss din ke liye tayyar kiya aur aaj vo din aahi gaya.
Ye le Maa, ye le. Teri liye dil, tere liye bali, teri kushi aur meri intekaam ki pehli seedi”

Blackout.

Scene 2: Introduction of Chowdhary Family


A drone view of White Ambassador being driven towards a big white mansion.
The Name plates outside the gates of Mansion, reads “Chowdhary’s”. Gates are open and the car enters with 2-3
chelas following the car. The driveway is big and can accommodate more than 10 cars. On both the sides of the
driveway, there is a green lawn. On the left side, there is a dog house from where 2 German Shepherds leap out and
follow the car and on the right side in the center of the lawn there are benches kept with a small round table with a
shed above (for adda).
As the car reaches the front of the mansion entrance, men/chelas wait outside. Door of the car open and 2 men step
outside the car.
Focus is now shifted to the one who comes out from the right side, wearing Off-white shirt and pant, tall and
muscular with curled moustache. His demeanor outclasses everyone around and has a different charm and
acceptance to it. All the Chelas around look up to him with respect and pride. He is the eldest son of the family who
runs a transport company and is very dynamic and powerful. He looks at the other end and waiting for the other
person to come around and now the focus is shifted to the one on the other end.
A young man near the age of 25-27 steps outside the car. He is wearing an Army uniform and black aviators.
Trimmed beard and ripped body, fitting the uniform. He walks with shoulders up high with a sense of pride and
honor, like a soldier should have. He walks around the car and stand alongside his elder brother and then they both
moves towards the entrance.
The camera shows their back and the camera slowly moves inside the house where we see a man sitting in the
middle of the courtyard on a rocking chair with newspaper in hand. The man is Siraj Jibreel Chowdhary, head of the
family and a very powerful and an influential Zamindar.
2 children are playing in the courtyard in front of him, aged 5(girl) and 10(boy).
Focus is on Mr. Chowdhary. As he looks at the entrance and his sons entering the house. His face shows the joy and
how proud he was of his 2 sons. The camera now shifts to 2 brothers entering the house.

Camera is following them sideways from left as they walk in. In this part, we also try to show the grandeur of the
Chowdhary mansion. Long Pillars, white walls, animal hides and bodies for showcase, guns and a big family photo.
Mr. Chowdhary, who is still sitting, calls his wife,” Pushpa, are o Pushpa. Ektu ekhane aashbe?!”
2 kids playing runs towards their uncle who came after a long time. They leap into his arms and he kisses them.
Both the son, stand in front of Mr. Chowdhary and the younger one comes a step forwards and hugs him.
Focus now goes to the Kitchen where we can see 2 ladies preparing the food and plates. Both of them well dressed,
traditionally. We see the boss lady, Mrs. Chowdhary, who is giving direction to seravants as lunch Is about to ge set
and response to Mr. Chowdhary, “Aree Aschi…”
She leaves the kitchen, giving the control and direction to her daughter-in-law, wife of the eldest son.
As she comes out of the kitchen in the grand room/lobby/drawing room, where Mr. Chaudhary is, She is delighted to
see her 2 sons, more on seeing his younger son who came from Army after serving a long time.
She rushes towards him and hugs him, showing her motherly love.
Maa: Aamaar Shona!! Tui esegechis……..
In the same time, the daughter-in-law also comes out and welcome the younger brother.
Everyone in the family is delighted and they move to the dining room.
Everyone has settled on the dining table and the servants are serving the food.
Long dining table is set, served with different kinds of foods, servants are on their more and serving lunch to
everyone. It is a 4 walled room.
The wall behind Chowdhary’s table has his and his wife photo.
The wall opposite to Chowdhary has 3 swords set on the wall, placed as per their size
The other 2 walls have a long frame with Islamic verses written.
Boy: Kaka, kaka, next time ab jab jaoge to mujhe bhi apne sath lekar chalna.
Farhan: haa haa kyu nahi. Bharat mata ko tumhjaise hi 9 jawan veero ki to zaroorat hai….
Brother: Aur border ka kya khabar hai?
Farhan: Border me to abhi pehle jaisa hi hai, kabhi shanti to kabhi safdhaani. Lekin pehle se abhi thora aaram hai,
lekin saha ka dabdaba abhi bhi hai.
Brother: Abhi posting vahi border pe hi ya calcultta bhi aana ho raha hai?
Farhan: Posting to abhi border pe hi hai, raha baat Calcutta ka, to delhi abhi door hai.
One chela enters the rooms, while the family enjoys the dinner.
He goes straight to Chowdhary to report an issue in the village.
Chela: Chowdhary baba, Dr. babu chowrahe me aake phirse jhagra kar raha hai. Aur is baar to Banerjee babu ke sath
Chela: vahi, jo us din apni khoe patni ke baare me puchne aaya tha
Chowdhary: to uska patni milgayi.
Chela: Haa, Banerjee babu ke sath thi vo. Aur abhi Dr. Babu pura chowraha me jhagar raha hai.
Mrs. Chowdhary: DR. Babu theek to hai. Yaha poora gao ko uski patni ke baare me pata tha aur use hi nahi pata.
Shakuntala didi kitna roe thi isi larki ke vaja se. To hua sahi hua.

Scene 3:

Jhagra in Chowraha
Camera is now on a crowd who is trying to separate 2 people and stop the fight.
Chowdhary’s enter the scene in his ambassador followed by 2 jeeps with men in it. His eldest son is also with him.
They get out from the cars and goes towards the crowd.
Chelas from the jeep rush forwards and clears the crowd and separate the 2 men. Everyone in the crowd now quite
and terrified, as head of the village shows up.
Both men tussle with the chelas as they are grabbed by them.
Chowdhary to Dr. : tum phir jhagra kar raha hai, roz roz ka hogaya hai tumhara. Mana patni bhaag gae, iska ye
matlab thori na hai ki tum gao me sabke upar shak karte phire.
Dr: Chowdhary babu, shok nahi humko yakeen hai ki mera patni is, is shuor ke sath hai
Banerjee: vo humari patni hai, tumhara nahi.
Chowdhary: Ae, ye kya mazaak chal raha hai. Iska patni uska patni, yaha beech chowrahe me tumlog jhagra kaisa kar
raha hai. Rasta ka halat dekh hai, pura bheer jama liya hai.
Yaha se chalo, doctor babu ka chamber chalo tumlog, vahi baat hoga.

Chelas put Dr babu and Banerjee babu in 2 jeeps and everyone get in the vehicle and leaves. Crowd disperses and
the road is back to normal.

Marriage Scene:

Scene is set in night. Chowdhary family is having dinner.


Mrs Chowdhary: Accha hua tum aagae. Ab Master ji ki bagni ke shaadi me tum chal paoge.
We connect the conversation of Chowdhary family from above.
6 cars are racing their way through a deserted road. 2 Jeep in front and back and 2 ambassadors in the middle.
In the first ambassador, we have Mr and Mrs Chowdhary and Farhan and in the back ambassador we have Zaid, his
wife and children.
They reach a local school. Entrance of the school is adorned with flowers and there are DHAKI to welcome all the
guest.
All the cars pull up and men rushes towards the 2 ambassadors and open the gate.

A short, stern man with long hair and not much facial hair, enters the scene. He and his subordinates welcome the
Chowdhary Family.

Master Ji: Dhonnobad Chowdary Babu! Dhonnobad. Ap aagae jaise Ronak aagaya.
Chowdary: Are!! Kaise nahi aate, aapki bagni ka shaadi hai, hum sabko aana hi tha.

Master ji: Are Zubair babu aap hi aae ho.


Farhan grins but does not say anything and the whole family start moving inside.
Everyone moves inside the school which is well decorated as a marriage hall should be. There are pandals set on the
side of the school where the whole scene will take place.
There are chairs set and a good crowd is gathered, in the center, the wedding stage is set where the wedded couple
stands. They are surrounded by people. Some are family members who are introducing guests to the couple and
there are also people who are coming just to greet the couple and then leave the stage.
Chowdhary Family enters the scene and are guided to their seats by Master Ji.
Master Ji sees Chowdhary family settling in and then he leaves.

Master goes to stage and interacts with the grooms.

Scene 4: Introduction of Ganguly Family

Small Crowd is gathered outside a mansion with men guarding the house and entrance.
There is heavy security check for everyone who enters.
We enter the house and we see Men all around. Few are guards while others are general public. The hallway is long
and huge decorated with different portraits. As we enter the hall, where people are gathered, we see long creamed
walls and in center is a beautiful and expensive chandelier.
We see a man who is sitting at the end of the room on his chair. The picture is still blurred and the face is not yet
revealed. Sunlight is coming from back and giving a shadowish frame. He is surrounded by 2-3 people advising
him/discussing something with him.

Camera: Focus is now on 2 people with whom camera starts moving forward and we go towards that man.

Marriage scene with masterji and niece wedding

Episode 2
Gangly and Majumdar
Ganguly is in politics. Majumdar is in border smuggling.

Time election..assembly.
Govt convoy. For ganguly. Address the people. Like bal thakery,
Majumdar is local don on border area. Occupation arms and border smuggling, aspiring to become a politician
Ganguly wooing Majumdar for vote bank.
