Writing – Module coordinators are models and coaches of writing for their students. Please have your work edited prior to
submitting it, as part of your mark will go toward writing. Please review feedback carefully as it will help you to improve future work.
For students who have trouble in meeting writing expectations, seek help either from PNU Student Support Services or privately.

All your work must be your own, written and referenced according to Harvard style. Please refer to the DCU Library under “Quick
Links” at the bottom right hand corner of the page for excellent resources to assist you with formatting citations - most helpful will
be the Cite Them Right and Harvard Style of Citing and Referencing links. Also, if you have not yet taken the LETS e-Tutorial please

DCU ACADEMIC INTEGRITY AND PLAGIARISM POLICY

As members of an academic community engaged in the pursuit of truth and with a special concern for values, students are expected
to conform to high standards of honesty and integrity in their academic work. The fundamental assumption under which the
University operates is that work submitted by a student is a product of his/her own efforts.

Among the most serious academic offenses is plagiarism, submitting the style of another author or source without acknowledgment
or formal documentation. Plagiarism occurs when specific phrases or entire passages, whether a sentence, paragraph, or longer
excerpt, are incorporated into one's own writing without quotation marks or documentation. One also plagiarizes by paraphrasing
the work of another that is, retaining another writer's ideas and structure without documentation.

Students are advised to always set off another writer's exact words by quotation marks, with appropriate references. Students avoid
plagiarism by concentrating on their own words and ideas and by fully crediting others' work and ideas when they find their way into
the writing. Whenever in doubt, cite the source.

Students who purchase essays from other students or agencies or who copy from one another or from prohibited sources, commit
the most serious type of academic dishonesty.

The consequences of plagiarism, or any act of academic dishonesty, is outlined in the DCU Academic Integrity and Plagiarism Policy
which can be located at this link: DCU Academic Integrity and Plagiarism Policy . Please acquaint yourself with the contents of this
document.

Students in the School of Nursing and Human Sciences at the Dublin City University are expected to exhibit behaviors that epitomize
academic, professional and personal integrity, committed to values, respect for others, and academic excellence. Adherence to such
high standards is necessary to ensure quality in education and clinical care in all School of Nursing and Human Sciences programs.

When you are submitting an assignment via Loop in this course, you will be asked to agree to the following:
All files uploaded will be submitted to the plagiarism detection service URKUND,
If you wish to prevent your document from being used as a source for analysis outside this site by other organizations you can use the opt-out link
provided after the report has been generated.
