Lesson Preparation, Building Background, Comprehensible Input, Strategies,

Interaction, Practice & Application, Lesson Delivery, and Review & Assessment

Lesson Preparation: As students go about their daily activities, they may not always
be consciously aware of the influence that natural objects in the sky have on their
routines. However, the sun, moon, clouds, and stars play significant roles in shaping
their experiences and impacting their daily lives. This unit was chosen because of the
direct relationship the topic has to their lives. Understanding the different natural
objects in the sky helps students perform their duties and tasks in different ways.
Additionally, by learning about the influence of natural objects in the sky, students
can develop various life skills, including time management, weather awareness, and
adaptability.

Building Background Knowledge: The students will be motivated through a nursery

song video showing the different natural objects in the sky. The teacher will also
activate student’s prior knowledge by asking open-ended questions like how they
interpret or understand the natural objects in the sky, and they will be encouraged
to share their experiences related to the topic.

Comprehensible input/Scaffolding:

The students will be guided in their sky observations by providing information, tips, or
extra samples as needed to help them navigate the natural objects in the sky. To
further enhance the students' artwork, the teacher will briefly explain the elements of
art that can be utilized. Moreover, the teacher will provide examples or samples of
artwork that showcase how the elements of art can be applied to portray natural
objects in the sky. The teacher

Lesson Deliver:

A. Presentation: This is a cumulative lesson plan with practice and application

built in to the daily format. The presentation, practice, and application
features are embedded into the daily lesson.

I DO: The daily presentation starts with a review of the previous lesson,
presenting the learning objectives to the class, providing instances of the new
lesson as a way to motivate the students, and routine drills to identify key
vocabulary and introduce new concepts.

We DO: Discussions of concepts and skills of the new lesson, demonstration of

steps on sky observations, identifying and discussing the natural objects in the
sky, artwork presentation in class, formative assessments, and practical
exercises to apply learned concepts and skills in everyday life.

B. Practice/Application:

You DO: Each day, the students will be given enough time and opportunities to
unleash their creativity by making artwork inspired, as they will have the full freedom
to observe the sky during the day and night, enabling them to finish their artwork
that showcases their creativity and understanding of the topic.

- Adding more art elements to their artwork

- Adding more natural objects to their artwork that they can see during sky
observations

Review/Assessment: The student artwork will be presented and displayed inside the
classroom. To assess their mastery of the skill, the teacher will be asking the students
to label the name of the natural object depicted, along with a brief discussion of its
characteristics and its importance in our daily activities.

Extension:

This lesson can easily be extended by going outdoors or positioning themselves near
a window with a clear view of the sky to conduct daytime and nighttime sky
observations draw what they see and write short descriptions of the object they
observe. This will help students further explore and enrich their understanding of
natural objects in the sky. The standards and competencies can also be extended
through exploring and reading stories, poems, or educational materials that provide
additional information about natural objects found in the sky, allowing students to
delve deeper into the topic while enhancing their language development.
