Assessment Instructions

This assessment addresses the following elements

2. Monitor safe work practices.
3. Coordinate consultative arrangements for the management of health, safety and security issues.
4. Implement and monitor procedures for identifying hazards and assessing and controlling risks.
5. Implement and monitor health, safety and security training.
6. Maintain WHS records and reports.
Assessment details

• This project is assessment three of three for this unit.

• This is a summative assessment.
• This assessment is double sided.
• It is an open book assessment.
• This is a classroom assessment and must be completed individually.
• All questions are to be answered correctly to be deemed Satisfactory in the assessment.
• The cover page and the assessor receipt sheet must be completed in full when you hand in
the assessment.
• This assessment must be handed in by the due date or it will be deemed an automatic NYS. If
that is the case the student will be charged a re-assessment fee if the assessors deem it NYS
when they mark it.

Candidate Instructions

• Assessment must be word processed.

• You are to use Font Arial 12 for the body of the Project – headings may be in Arial 14.
• Ask your assessors if you do not understand a question. Whilst your assessor cannot give
you the answer he/she may be able to re word the question so it is easier for you to
understand.

Project 1

As part of the OHS Representatives at ANIBT Hotel you have been asked to develop a plan
to update the health and safety program that is currently in use.

You need to submit a report to the OHS Committee on how the new program will be
implemented.

You will need to research the requirements of your state or territories’ health and safety
legislation.

Your plan must cover the following areas

Include:

1. Overview of the workplace—industry, products and services, main work practices.

2. Health and safety legislation effecting ANIBT Hotel: including:

• Specific and relevant health and safety legislative requirements, &

• Ramifications of failure to observe requirements

3. How is health and safety information to be provided to staff ? Include accessibility.

4. How are organisation health and safety procedures, health and safety signage and
safe work practices going to be monitored at ANIBT Hotel? Include how you will
monitor ongoing compliance.

5. What are the consultation and feedback processes going to be and how will they be
implemented at ANIBT Hotel?

6. How will you refer or resolve an issue raised through health and safety consultation?

7. How are hazards going to be identified?

8. How are the risks going to be assessed?

9. How are risk control measures going to be implemented and monitored at ANIBT
Hotel?

10. What training will be provided to ANIBT Hotel staff? Include:
