A. Tujuan Pembelajaran
Dengan metode discovery learning,peserta didik mampu menerapkan Sentence Struktur pada
kalimat dengan benar.

B. Langkah Pembelajaran (90 menit)

1. Guru memulai pembelajaran dengan berdoa, menyanyikan lagu Indonesia Raya dan
mengecek kehadiran peserta didik.
2. Peserta didik berkerja dalam kelompok 4 orang membuka materi pada link:

mempelajari materi paragraf.
3. Peserta didik bekerja dalam kelompok 4 orang mampu mengerjakan student’s

Paragraph Exercises
Choose a topic sentence
Look at the supporting sentences in these short paragraphs and choose the best topic
sentence.
(1) Mine is ten years old, and it is always breaking down when I need it. It
costs a lot of money for repairs each year. Also, the heater doesn’t work any more, so it is
cold in the winter. I really wish I could change it.

2) The teachers are all very old and boring. The courses are not good.
The buildings are old and dirty and there is no heating in them. Worst of all, it takes me
two hours to get there. I wish I had gone to a different college.

3) Piles of dirty clothes and old magazines cover the floor. Rarely is the
bed ever made. Instead, the blankets hang draped over the side of the bed, ending in a
heap on the floor. Under the furniture, masses of inch-thick dust mingle with stale cookie
crumbs. It’s no wonder my brother has given up and asked to move in with me!

My favourite kind of car is convertible. People can also insulate their houses better.
Finally, by reusing things like bottles and plastic bags, people can reduce the amount
of waste. By practicing these simple guidelines, we can save our natural resources.

7) There are many reasons why I like wearing a uniform to school. First of all, it saves time.
I don’t have to spend time picking out my clothes every morning. Wearing a uniform also
saves money. It’s cheaper to purchase a new uniform than to go out and buy lots of
school clothes. In addition, I don’t have the pressure of keeping up with the latest styles.
Most importantly, wearing a school uniform gives me a sense that I belong. I really think
that it adds to the feeling of school spirit and community.

8) There are many reasons why I am against wearing a school uniform. For one thing,
I don’t like they style of the uniform. The navy blazer and plaid skirt are too
conservative for me. Secondly, the uniform isn’t comfortable. I prefer to wear baggy
pants and a sweater instead of a skirt and a jacket. Finally, I want the freedom to
express my individuality through my style of dressing.
