Given the chance，I could make a difference.

My name is X X, twenty years old, born in Hubei

Province, central China. And I grow up in Wuhan which is the capital city of Hubei Province. My
father has ever been educational worker of textiles so I have got familiar with the textile products
and many colorful materials ever since I was a child. And I take more and more interest in this line,
and I wish I could master this technology because I want to be the top textile engineer in the world.
That is why I look forward to having further education in your program Textile Science and
Technology [BSc] in your university. As it is known to all, the University of Manchester is a
world-famous university and especially well known in the field of textile materials. Therefore I
can learn some special things which I can’t learn in china and I have strong desire to follow on
with my studies in textile major.

Growing up in a common family, I did not concern about extravagance and waste because I know
I could not put pressure on my parents anymore. I really appreciate my sagacious parents, who are
aware that what suits me is probably going to lead me success and my obsession with textile made
them support me more than anything I have ever done before.

Not only being interest in textile technology, I also have the qualities required in this field too. I
have taken not only textile science and technology but also on theoretical knowledge in marketing
and sales of fashion and textiles. Out of class, I often go to the library to review my knowledge
which I learned from teachers. And during the winter last year, I visited one of the biggest textile
factories in Zhejiang province which is famous for its textile products. From that precious
experience, I got a clear view of the whole manufacture process.

I started higher education in Wuhan Textile University which is the unique textile university in
china in 2012, majoring in textile engineering and I am now a sophomore. During my freshman
year I took courses on Higher Mathematics,General Chemistry, General Physics, English, Oral
English enrichment, Knitting and Weaving etc. Through my studies, I realized General chemistry
and General physics play a significant role and it is foundation of my major .In my second year, I
have learned Textile Materials, College physics experiment and so on.

All these treasures in my life may contribute to my future career .But don’t regard me as those
kind of nerds who are studying all time. I have a wide range of interests. I am also fond of
badminton and I play it very well. I really love football very much, although I am not very good at
it and I am a big fan of the Manchester united. So it is a good chance for me to complete a dream
when I was a child that is to watch a game in Old Trafford stadium. But as a university student, I
have learned I should not take it granted that every ambition should be fulfilled, it is the process of
striving for success but not the attainment. No matter how it turns out to be, I am fully sure that
this will be the most impeccable experience in my whole life.

My personal characteristic of persistence, hard working and commitment make me ideally suited
to Textile technology, I am very eager to gain this opportunity and enhance myself from precious
academic nutrition in the University of Manchester. At the same time, I wish I can contribute
intelligence to your university by promoting myself. It will be a great honor to enter the University
of Manchester and it will be the best time of my life if possible.
