Please give reasons for your application and explain your interest in the position (keep to one side of A4):
To me, being a prefect is that first step towards achieving my goal of becoming Head Boy at The Crypt
School. I believe that I would be a suitable candidate for this role as I am a very social person, I see
myself as a role model for some of the students in the lower school that I know and I’m sure are quite
fond of me and I like to think of myself as a person with a very enthusiastic attitude and an out-going
personality. I have partaken in many sports team over the years at The Crypt School and during those
years I have acquired skills such as: being able to work efficiently and effectively with others in a
team, being able to display respect for fellow students, leadership, being able to communicate with
others and lastly being able to handle challenging internal dilemmas and situations in the correct
manner. Regarding my academic studies, I am currently meeting my expected grade in my subjects; B
in physics, B in economics and A* in maths. However, although I was given an A in my recent PP grades
for maths, my current level of understanding of the work done in lessons is what I like to see as higher
than expected so me currently being at an A doesn’t worry me. Taking this into account, I believe that
I am maintaining a good academic record. As for attendance records, so far, I haven’t missed a day in
school for any reasons, so my attendance is still currently at 100%. Being responsible happens to be
one of my many attributes as well as being able to work independently and with others, being
respectful towards my peers, teachers and my working environment, being able to encourage and
motivate other students (and sometimes even teachers), being positive and enthusiastic as I have
mentioned earlier and finally being punctual and being able to meet deadlines.

As I stated in the beginning, being a prefect is the first step towards my goal. This first step is a very
necessary step as it is a chance for me to experience what its like to have a higher role in the school
and what it is like to take on heavier responsibilities. It also allows me to prepare myself for the even
heavier duties that come with being head boy (which I am hoping will not be a dream but a reality in
the future) or if I don’t get the head boy roll, the just as important duties that come with being a
member of the student executive team.
