Journal Title: Second Day of Examination
Dear Mommy Wheng,
1. Today is the second and last day of our exam.
2. Although we only have one subject to take on which is the Purposive Communication.
3. We heard rumours saying that our teacher’s exam isn’t that complicated when it comes to
giving the questions for the exam.
4. But still I could not let my guard down and instead I need to study hard.
5. We only discussed two topics and our group discussed the first lesson which is Communication
Models.
6. Our topic is easy and I am confident that I will get a high score because I am already familiar
with half of the pointers.
7. There are only four communication models and each model is familiar to me because we
practice communication with different people every day.
8. The second topic is Communication Ethics which talks about the credo set by the NCA.
9. There are three credo given by the National Communication Authorities and each credo states
different values in regards to communication.
10. The values stated in the first credo are truthfulness, honesty, accuracy, and reason.
11. The values stated in the second credo are freedom of speech, diversity of perspective, and
tolerance of dissent.
12. The third credo talks about the different degrading communication practices such as distortion,
intimidation, violence, coercion, and through expression of intolerance and hatred.
13. I studies the PowerPoint presentation given by each of the group to ensure that I have studied
everything about the lessons.
14. I also did some research on the internet because I was a bit confused about this one subtopic.
15. I wasn’t satisfied with my research to the point where I asked my classmates for their notes.
16. We had a little discussion but in the end, I stood firm to what I have studied.
17. I am confident that I have the correct answers.
18. When it was time to enter our examination room, our teacher got mad at us because we didn’t
have the initiative to help him arrange the chairs.
19. I honestly think the blame is on me because I am the first person to come inside but this time I
didn’t have the guts to ask him for permission to enter.
20. We are used to stay outside and wait for his instructions to come in.
21. And that’s what we did today but honestly we are at fault for not having the initiative to help
him organize everything
22. He scolded us for not having the virtue of helping which is a vital quality to succeed in life.
23. We sincerely apologized silently and after a few minutes of lecturing us, we started the
examination.
24. He made the front liners collect the permits of our classmates and made us count how many
 were there.
25. After counting the permits, he gave us our examination papers.
26. It was a one-page examination but it was composed of two essays which is equivalent to 50
points in total and 40 enumerations.
27. Upon seeing the questions, I was happy to see that everything that I have studied came out.
28. I answered the enumerations first which was a bit challenging for me because I need to write so
many things and my back started to hurt.
29. I took a rest in between answering and when I finished the enumeration part, I started to
compose my thoughts for the essay.
30. The essay questions were really easy because it can be associated to our day to day living.
31. I also found it easy to answer because I have no problem in organizing my answers and English
has been my favorite subject since.
32. After I finished answering everything, I passed my paper and went outside.
33. A few minutes later, my boyfriend texted me that he was outside the campus and asked me if
we could eat dinner together.
34. I told him I need to ask my parents first to which they agreed as long as I update them from
time to time and that I should be home before my curfew.
35. My boyfriend and I decided to eat at Yan’s.
36. We ordered the usual and we had a super fun time catching up with what’s happened to us
recently.
37. Around 7 PM, he drove me home and bid our goodbyes.
