What is a Photo Essay?

A photo essay is a series of photographs that, when assembled in a particular order, tell a
unique and compelling story. While some photographers choose only to use pictures in their
presentations, others will incorporate captions, comments, or even full paragraphs of text to
provide more exposition for the scene they are unfolding.
As the old saying goes, “a picture is worth a thousand words.”
