Asia is the world’s largest and most diverse continent. It covers an area of

44,579,000 square kilometers (17,212,000 sq. mi), an approximately 30% of the

Earth’s land area. It also has the world’s most populous continent, with roughly

60% of the total population. (Wikipedia, Asia)

Asia has both the highest and the lowest points on the surface of Earth. It

has the longest coastline of any continent, which is subject overall to the world’s

widest climatic extremes and consequently, produces the most diverse forms of

vegetation and animal existence on Earth.

The population of Asia increases with a growth rate of approximately 2%.

According to the latest United Nations estimates, the current population of Asia

4,567,427,540 as of January 2019. Eastern, southern and south-east Asia are the

most populated. While the desert, mountain and tundra regions are the least

populated. Asia is considered as a home to several of the world’s oldest civilization

since prehistoric era. Its culture has embraced the collective and various customs

and traditions that has been practiced and preserved by numerous ethnic groups

of the continent. It’s also the home of countless impressive and iconic historic

constructions, which usually a religious structures, castles and fortifications or a

palace. (Britannica, Asia)

Asia is one of the largest sources in terms of agriculture in the world. But as

of now, In Asia, urbanization is centered in metropolitan regions. This has had a

negative impact on in-city food production by reducing acreage in and surrounding

cities. Urban-fringe farming, which formerly produced 70% of the veggies

consumed by the city's inhabitants, has been rapidly disappearing in Asian

countries. Uneven income distribution, along with a surge in urban poor, has

worsened the already serious problems of low quantity and quality of healthful

food, as well as excessive pricing.

The Philippines is strategically located for trade and tourism in the Southeast

Asian Region with a total land area of 300,000 square kilometers (115,830 sq. mi)

of territory, stretching 1,839 kilometers from north to southeast coast of Asia. The

Philippines lie east from its Southeast Asian neighbors, China, Japan and Korea.

The Philippine archipelago is bounded by the Philippine Sea to the east, the

Celebes Sea to the south, the Sulu Sea to the southwest, and the South China

Sea to the west and north. It is divided into three island groups: Luzon, Visayas,

and Mindanao with Manila as the capital City of the country. There is only about

7% of the islands that are larger than one square mile, and only one-third have

names. The largest island is Luzon which is located in the North with a total land

area of 104,687sq.km. (Britannica, Philippines)

The Philippines was influenced by successive groups of Austronesian

migrants, who brought with them influences from Malay, Hindu and Islamic

societies as early as the 10th century. Trade routes with China also led to

significant cultural exchange that has been maintained to this day. The nation was

named after Spanish King Philip II following the arrival of Ferdinand Magellan, who

landed in Cebu in 1521, indicating the beginning of over 300 years of Spanish

colonial rule.

In 1565 the arrival of Miguel López de Legazpi initiated permanent Spanish

settlements, which oversaw the Philippines’ transition into Spain’s stronghold in

the region. The Acapulco-Manila galleon trade route connecting Spanish

settlements in Mexico with Asia became the first intercontinental route in the new

world. (Oxford Business Group, The Philippines’ history of trade and migration has

created a diverse, globally minded society)

Agricultural parks are places designated only for agricultural activities in

order to support the continuing or start-up of such businesses. The Agricultural

Park Program of the State makes land available to small farmers at a fair cost and

for a lengthy period of time. and Community parks, rather than serving a

neighborhood, serve huge geographic areas. They have a larger function and may

meet a variety of recreational demands depending on the neighborhood.

Community parks are designed to keep guests of all ages active and entertained

for the duration of their stay. this study is a combination of these two places into

one by making a tourism landmark and an agricultural park in one location. To

provide the community a green space with a function serving the community.

Calabarzon (/ká-lɑ-bɑr-zon/), formally known as the Southern Tagalog

Mainland, is an administrative region in the Philippines, designated as Region IV-A.

The region comprises five provinces: Batangas, Cavite, Laguna, Quezon,

and Rizal and one highly urbanized city, Lucena. The region is the most populous

region in the Philippines according to the Philippine Statistics Authority, having over

14.4 million inhabitants in 2020, and is also the country's second most densely

populated after the National Capital Region. The region is situated southeast

of Metro Manila, and is bordered by the Manila Bay to the west, Lamon Bay and

the Bicol Region to the east, the Tayabas Bay and Sibuyan Sea to the south,

and Central Luzon to the north. It is home to places like Mount Makiling near

Los Baños, Laguna and the Taal Volcano in Batangas.

The history of the area known as Calabarzon dates back to early historic

times. Local historians believe that three of the tenth century place-names

mentioned in the Philippines' earliest known written document, the Laguna

Copperplate Inscription, pertain to regions or polities (Tagalog: "bayan") along the

shores of Laguna Lake; and some Filipino-Chinese scholars believe the tenth

century trading polity known as Ma-i may actually have been the predecessor of the

present day town of Bay, Laguna. Since the Philippines' colonial period, the region

has served as home to some of the most important Philippine historical figures,

including the Philippines' national hero, José Rizal, who was born in Calamba.

The region is the 12th largest region in the Philippines, with an area of

16,873.31 km2. The region itself is relatively flat, but also consists of coastal areas

and highlands.[16] It is bordered by Manila Bay in the west, Metro Manila, Bulacan,

and Aurora in the north, Lamon Bay and Bicol in the east, and the Isla Verde

Passage in the south. Each province in the region is composed of different

environments, ranging from low coastal areas to rugged mountainous ones.

The City of Dasmariñas is one of the fastest growing cities in the Province of

Cavite. Numerous commercial establishments which include major shopping malls

like SM Mall, Robinson’s Mall, Waltermart and Central Mall, different fast foods,

groceries, convenient stores, restaurants and other services-oriented businesses

are located along major road/highways in different barangays. It also has the

greatest number of universities and hospitals in the province.

From an agri-based community, the town of Dasmariñas has evolved into a

highly urbanized and industrial city. It now boasts of two industrial estates and

compound namely: First Cavite Industrial Estates (FCIE) in Barangay Langkaan,

Dasma-Technopark in Paliparan I and Molave Compound in Paliparan II.

There are few other industrial buildings operating in the southern barangays

of the City. The City of Dasmariñas is home to hundreds of thousands of residents

who occupy more than 188 residential subdivisions of the city. It also serves as a

haven to investors with its industrial estates and diverse pool of manpower. The

rapid growth of the city population near universities, industrial estates and factories

provides a ready market for real estate ventures such as subdivisions, apartments

and other support services. Its infrastructure projects involving major road

reconstruction and widening supports the city in its functional role as one of the

residential, commercial, industrial and university centers of Cavite. To protect its

environment, Dasmariñas adopted its Luntiang Dasmariñas Program, which is

envisioned to plant 100,000 seedlings planted over the town during the year 2000.

Cavite has a total population of 3,678,301 according to the 2015 Census of

Population making it the most populous, and the second most densely populated

province in the country. The tremendous increase is due to in-migration brought

about by the industrial boom and the mushrooming of housing subdivisions. The

City of Dasmariñas is Cavite’s Fourth Congressional District.

The City has a population of 556,330 for the year 2007 and a population

increase of 3.38 percent was realized after the period of three years which gave

an actual population of 575,817 for the year 2010. The City has a current

population of 659,019 based on National Statistics Office (NSO) census and have

been considered as the most thickly populated and now being identified as the

11th largest City.
