Research Methods

Research Design
The researcher will use Correlational Research Design which will have one independent
variable and one dependent variable. The independent variable will be Personal Perspective
whereas the dependent variable will be Mathematical Skills
Correlational Reasearch Design will help the study to evaluate the relation of two non
controllable variables. The researchers know that weaknesses, interest, and perspective are not
controllable which is why it is suitable in correlational research design

According to Bhandari (2021) “Correlational research design examines the relationship

between two or more variables without manipulating them”.
Correlational research design is also used in phycological research. The possible result
of direction in the correlation can be either positive, negative or no correlation.

Locale of the Study

The study will be conducted at Nagpayong High School, situated in Centennial II
Nagpayong Barangay Pinagbuhatan Pasig City. Pinagbuhatan, the largest among Pasig City’s 30
Barangays has a population of 1500,800 Residents and 33,720 Family Households as of 2015.
Nagpayong High Schools is one of the two public high schools in the barangay, offering secondary
education from Grade 7 to Grade 12, with a total population of 10,148 students and faculty
members.

Population of the Study

Among the 10,148 individuals at Nagpayong High School, the researcher will specifically
survey chosen group of Grade 10 students. The method employed for participants selection in this
study is random sampling, with 30 participants selected to represent the local study population.

Data Gathering Procedure

The data collection process begins with the researchers defining the study’s topic,
purpose, and its anticipated impact. Subsequently, they are going to find a well structured
questionnaire to serve as the data-gathering instrument. Participant selection is then determined
based on the topic, employing either random or purposeful selection methods, but in this type of
research design the researchers will choose to use random Sampling with a roulette technique
The researchers administer the questionnaire in person to the chosen participants. They must ask
the advicer of that chosent Class/Section for the to be able to conduct the survey, Following by
the survey, the researchers meticulously collect and document responses for accuracy and
completeness. Analyzing these responses, the researchers draw conclusions about the
participants’ perspectives. They represent the findings visually, often using a table as a visual aid
to present survey results.
Statistical Treatment of Data
Data analysis will involve organizational and explanation of data. In order to interpret the
data effectively, the researcher will employ the Pearson R Statistical Treatment in order to
answer each Statement of the Problem:
1. What is the percentage of the positive and negative perspective that is going to
expressed by the Nagpayong Highschool Selected Grade 10 students School Year
2023-2024?
2. What is the rating of mathematical Skills of the students in Nagpayong Highschool
Selected Grade 10 Students School Year 2023-2024?
3.Is there any significant relationship between the personal perspective and mathematical
skills of the in Nagpayong Highschool Selected Grade 10 Students School Year 2023-
2024?
