Pre-task knowledge: Students learn the location of the cities.

Part 1

1/ Three students in a group.

2/ Each group is responsible to do research on one of the above cities.

3/ Each student in the group chooses 3 topics from the following options and briefly describe each
topic in eight sentences. No repeated choice in a group.

Topics: Sports, food, famous people, climate, population & size of the city, landmarks, leisure
activities, visual art & artist, music & musician, historical facts, technologies, other interesting
facts.

Further instructions for the presentation as follow:

If you are a travel agent who visits Arden Anglican School, how do you present a city
and get more people to join your tour group? You need to prepare the following things for
your presentation:
1/ A business card of your company, you should include the name of your company and contact
details. Design your card and print 4 copies of it。

2/ A poster, for visual display and information.

- Write the name of the city in Chinese characters and pinyin on the poster. Include the
information of some of the topics on the poster. Decorate the poster.
- Use Google images to get pictures of the city. Then use 3 adjectives (handwrite it in Chinese
characters with pinyin and English) to describe your impression of the city. You may use
online dictionary to find the Chinese character & pinyin.

3/ Oral presentation with 2 pictures of each topic (use PowerPoint).

- Display the information of your topics in dot points.

- Each student is responsible for the oral report of his/her topics. The audiences take notes.

4/ Include this sentence in your PowerPoint. Before you finish the oral presentation, say this

5/ Optional: you may add other interesting ideas to your presentation.

Take notes when you listen to oral reports. Choose 2 cities you want to visit and tell the reasons.
