1905- 1906
THE FIRST MOROCCAN
CRISIS.
The First Moroccan Crisis (1905 –
1906) was caused by the competing
perspectives of France, which
wanted Morocco as a colony, and
Germany, which supported its
independence and had the effect of
strengthening the alliance systems
between Fance, Britain and Russia
versus Germany and Austria-
Hungary.

1908-1909
THE BOSNIAN CRISIS.

The Bosnian Crisis (1908-1909) was


caused by Austria-Hungary's addition
of Bosnian- Herzegovina to its
empire and had the effect of
strengthening the alliance system
between Austria-Hungary and
Germany as well as Russia and
Serbia.

1911
AGADIR CRISIS

The Agadir Crisis (1911) was caused


by Kaiser Wilhem by sending a
warship to Morocco, increasing the
tension caused by arms race and
had the effect of humiliating when
Germany backed down.

1940
ASSASSINATION OF FRANZ
FERDINAND.
The Assassination of Franz
Ferdinand (1914) was caused by the
war plans of who planned to kill the
heir to the Austro-Hungary throne
and the effect of outraging Austria
– Hungary, who blamed Serbia for
the terrorist attack
1914
AUSTRIAN ULTIMATUM TO
SERBIA

The Austrian Ultimatum to Serbia


(1914) was caused by alliance
system between Austria-Hungary
and Germany, who gave Austria -
Hungary the “Blank Cheque" and
had the effect of Austria -
Hungary sending an ultimatum to
Serbia that it intended to be too
harsh for Serbia to accept.

TO FRANCE AND
RUSSIA
The German ultimatums to
France and Russia (30 July – 1
August 1914) were caused by
Russia's Mobilization and had the
effect of making Germany send
French an ultimatum that
threatening war its France did
not remain neutral.

1950
GERMAN ULTIMATUM
TO BRITAIN AND
BELGIUM

The German ultimatum to


Britain and Belgium (1914) were
caused by the Kaiser, who
considered the Treaty of
London (1839) to be a “scrap of
paper” and had the effect of
activating the alliance
between Britain and Belgium
when Britain declared war.
