If B is zero, take B = 10

Examples: Student code 159806523 => A = 3, B = 2

265546806 => A = 6; B = 10
156849650 => A = 10; B = 5

Assignment form:
‒ Handwritten
‒ Take a picture or scan and create a pdf file, then submit it online
‒ Take it to the final exam, submit the hard copy after the exam
Evaluation: 10%

Steam cycle:
Problem 1:
Consider a steam power plant that operates on a simple ideal Rankine
cycle and has a power output of 100MW.
Steam enters the turbine at A0 bar and 500oC and is cooled in the
condenser at 10kPa by running cooling tower from a lake through the
tubes of condenser at a rate of 2000kg/s.
The coal-fired is used at boiler with a heating value of 29300kJ/kg and
80% of boiler efficiency.
Determine:
a/ the properties of states of the cycle
b/ the thermal efficiency of the cycle
c/ the mass flow rate of the steam
d/ the required rate of coal supply
e/ assume the pump work is negligible, determine the thermal
efficiency of the cycle

Refrigeration cycle:
Problem 2:
Refrigerator uses refrigerant R22 as the working fluid and operates on
an ideal vapor compression refrigeration cycle between 0,A MPa and
1,6MPa. The power input is 20kW.
Determine:
a/ The COP of the refrigeration cycle
b/ The cooling capacity of evaporator Qo, the heat rejects from
condenser to enviroment Qk
c/ Moisture air flow through evaporator at 35°C, and 80% and it
leaves as saturated air at 20°C. Calculate the amount of water
condensed per minute.

Moisture air:
Problem 3: Mixture of two difference air stream
- Air stream 1: G1 = 2000kg/h, t1 = ABoC; 1 = 70%
- Air stream 2: G2 = 3500kg/h, t2 = BAoC; 2 = 50%
- After mixed air stream at state 3.
- The mixture keep continuing moving to the heater to rise
temperature until the outlet at state 4 is 120oC.
Determine:
a/ Properties of moisture air at state 3 and state 4?
b/ Using the electric heater with power of each heater is 5kW for
heating process. How many electric heaters can be used in this
case?

Problem 4: 6oC
A cold room has AoC with convective heat transfer coefficient is
6W/m2K. The surface area of the room 16m2 exposed to ambient air
temperature 38oC with 12W/m2K.
The cold room walls consist of 2 layers:
+ the first layer: 1 = 2mm, 1 = 55W/moC
+ the second layer: 2 = 110mm, 2 = 0,1W/moC
