Gastronomy • Bacalao – it's a traditional salted cod fish meal that can be found in every
Cacitenean home. It's cooked with dried codfish that's been soaked in water
overnight to make the meat easy to shred, as well as bell peppers, garbanzo
beans or chickpeas, potatoes, and onions.
• Tamales- One of the most favorite delicacies of Cavite City and bread filling
by pure blooded Caviteno. It is made of ground peanuts and galapong that is
steamed and wrapped in banana leaves.
• Kilawin- It's made of grated green papaya cooked in vinegar with grilled
mashed pancreas and chopped librillo of cows.

Gastronomy • Miki- Marinduque is known for producing some of the greatest Miki
noodles in the Philippines. Miki noodles are composed of egg flour and are
around the same size as pancit noodles. Miki pancit is a must-try in
Marinduque.
• Manakla- Manakla is the native Marinduque term for crayfish, and it's a
sort of crayfish that's extremely popular in Marinduque and is frequently
used as a protein in any cuisine you can think of. Manakla is commonly
served in pulutan dishes or as beer/alcohol appetizers at beach pubs and
restaurants.
• Kalamay-dampa-The popular Marinduque version of the more well-known
kalamay-hati is kalamay-dampa. Kalamay is the overall word for this
common dish, which includes both the kalamay-dampa and kalamay-hati
varieties. Kalamay is produced of glutinous rice, coconut milk, and brown
sugar. It's commonly served in a coconut shell or on banana leaves in slices.
• Saludsod- Saludsod are the native pancakes of Marinduque. It's a popular
local dish that travelers must eat when in Marinduque because they won't
find it anyplace else in the Philippines. This native pancake is produced with
a particular batter made with indigenous components such as arrowroot
powder, coconut milk, flour, and sugar.

A newly established (2019) street dance competition in conjunction with its
town fiesta, commemorating the local coconut wine "tuba" business and
honoring a tale about the beauty of Mount Malindig volcano, the island
province's highest point.
• Gasang-Gasang Festival- March
A joyous celebration faith and thanksgiving for the “newly Risen Christ”
featuring street dancing competitions between 21 barangays of the
municipality held annually during Easter Sunday highlighted by a final
performance in front of thousand audiences for judging in one of the town’s
open park.
• Kangga Festival- May 13
Celebrated annually in honor of the town’s patron St. Isidore de Labrador,
patron of farmers where barrio folks converge at the town and parade with
its own “kangga” or wooden sled pulled by a carabao and bedeck with
different products from each locality. The celebration is capped by the
contest of the most beautiful “kangga”, on cooking of local delicacies and the
unhusking of coconuts.
• Araw ng Gasan-Kalesayahan Festival- August 20
A big celebration of different activities, programs, beauty contests, and
highlighted by parade and competition of ornately designed kalesa or horse
drawn carriage, materials made from local indigenous materials, recycled
materials or combination of both. Each of the municipalities’ districts or
combination of two or three barangays provides entries that mainly features
the major local industry, or famous tourist destination, each kalesa has their
couple of beauty contests competitors (gentleman and lady) on board during
the parade.

Gastronomy Sinantol - Bicol is one of the provinces in the Philippines that is known to
produce santol or cotton fruit. Santol is a tropical fruit found in Southeast
Asia. Due to the abundant production of santol in the province, Bikolanos
made a dish out of it and called it Sinantol or Ginataang Santol.
Kinunot - Kinunot na Isda, flaked fish in coconut milk, is a popular cuisine
in Bicol Region. It is made of either pagi, Stingray, or shark meat, moringa
leaves, chili peppers and coconut milk. Kinunot is a simple dish with hard to
find ingredients most especially when you live in the metro.
Tinumok - Tinumok is a dish that originated in Bicol. It is made of chopped
matured coconut meat, shrimp or pork, onion, ginger, and garlic wrapped in
gabi or taro leaves and simmered in coconut milk.
Bicol Express - Bicol Express is a favorite dish of most Filipinos. It is a stew
that is usually made of pork simmered in coconut milk with sili, onion, garlic
and shrimp paste but in Camarines Norte, they cook Bicol Express the
traditional way.
Pili roll - When you say Pili, Bicol would always be the first province in
mind of most Filipinos. Pili tree is a tropical tree that grows in volcanic soils
that bears pili nuts that have rich buttery flavor.
