CONDUCT OF ACTIVITIES ON THE CELEBRATION OF THE NATIONAL READING MONTH

IN THE DIVISION OF AGUSAN DEL SUR, SCHOOL YEAR 2023-2024

This Division

1. The whole month of November is the National Reading Month and every last Friday of
November is the National Reading Day.
2. This month-long celebration is one of the many ways to celebrate the milestones in
reading of our learners in schools. This is also a way of living up to the goals of the
“Every Child A Reader Program” ( ECARP) and the Division Reading Project, Project
PagPABASA.
3. All schools are enjoined to conduct activities on reading every week, from November 6 to
November 29, 2023. The National Reading Day which is on the last Friday of November,
may be conducted on November 24 or December 1, 2023 ( Friday).
4. Suggested Activities to be conducted in school are found in the enclosure of this
Memorandum. In addition, the schools should implement the activities enumerated in
their reading programs. It is emphasized that all the activities be school-based and to
be participated by all the learners. It is also emphasized that there should be no
disruption of classes as the school implements the suggested reading activities.
5. There will be a Monitoring Report to be submitted to the CID office after the activities
have been conducted. The PSDS, through the Municipal Reading Coordinators, are
advised to submit a consolidated report on the activities conducted. The template is
found in the attachment of this Memorandum.
6. Moreover, the Division Office will run some activities during the Opening and the
Culmination of the National Reading Celebration. These are to be participated by the
Division Office Personnel. The activities and schedules are as follows:
