RECOMMENDATIONS

1. Based on the related literature titled Face it, you are not that important: the spotlight effect by
Jia, Z. (2019).

That states that people tend to exaggerate the extent of which they are observed by other
people which results to becoming overly conscious of their appearance, behavior, and actions.
Because of that, they are not able to interact normally and tend to have fear or avoid situations
that require them to interact with other people. When the reality is, other people are not really
paying attention to them at all or at least, not as much as they think. So having
seminars/webinars that could educate them about Spotlight effect or social anxiety is important
because the first step always in overcoming fear is becoming aware of it.

2. Based on the related literature titled The spotlight effect: Why it seems that everyone is looking
at you.

That states that the impact of Spotlight Effect will start to fade when they become distracted or
used to it so we recommend them that they would be encouraged to participate in activities.

3. Based on the related literature titled: Spotlight Effect: How aware of you is your audience by
Dlugan, A. (2018)

That states spotlight effect amplifies their emotions that they become overly conscious of their
appearance, their behaviors, and actions making them feel so nervous and distracted during
their presentations and performance. So in recommendation number 3, we recommended
helpful techniques in overcoming the impact of Spotlight Effect based on the data we have
gathered.

4. We believe that teachers play a major role in educating and helping their students in
overcoming their fear and in building confidence. As we all know, school is like a training ground
for the students before they come out and face the real world, and it is important that teachers
as the head in the classroom, should be educated first so they could pass their knowledge on
their student and would know how to handle and help their students with this kind of concerns.

5. We believe that it is important that the school conduct an assessment or evaluation on the
students level of fear and avoidance in social situations using the Liebowitz Social Anxiety Scale
so they would know who among the students needed help. If they would be able to solve this
problems in students, it would help in improving the performance of the students and
increasing the morale of the school.
6. Based on the data we have gathered, we would like to suggest that they conduct study on a
more larger scale and have more balanced number of respondents.
