CALL FOR NOMINATIONS TO THE POSITION OF VIHIGA COUNTY YOUTH

BOARD CHAIRPERSON AND MEMBERS

The Vihiga County Youth Service Act 2022, Section 8 provides for the establishment of
the Vihiga County Youth Board .The powers of the Board are stipulated in section 16
of the Act.
Pursuant to the above provisions, the department invites expression of interest for the
positions of the Chairperson and Members of the Vihiga County Youth Board.

Qualification of the Chairperson

a) Is a resident of Vihiga County;
b) Holds atleast a first degree from a university recognized in Kenya;
c) Has atleast three year’s experience in youth development;
d) Has demonstrated ability in youth leadership and youth mobilization;
e) Has actively contributed to the promotion of youth development
agenda.
f) Is not an official of any political party registered in Kenya;
g) Satisfies the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution of
Kenya, 2010.

Qualifications for members of the Board

a) Satisfies the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya,

2010.
b) Holds atleast a C- grade in Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education
examinations or its equivalent.
 c) Has proven experience in youth leadership for atleast two years
d) Is not an official of any political party registered in Kenya.

All applications should be addressed to the County Executive Committee

Member responsible for Youth, Sports, Culture , Gender and Social Services.
Applications must be accompanied with:

a) A copy of Kenyan ID or passport.

b) A copy of the KRA PIN.
c) A copy of the academic, professional and other achievements of the
applicants.
d) All updated documents of compliance with Chapter Six of the
Constitution of Kenya 2010

Applications should be hand-delivered to Room 214, 2nd Floor at the County

Commissioners (D.C) building in Mbale Town, Vihiga County, not later than 24 th
October 2023 from today.

*Applicants aligned to a registered Youth Group shall have an added advantage.*
