Heat and Temperature

Heat – is the transfer of energy

between objects or places because of
difference in temperature. It is
‘thermal energy in transit’ and it is not
contained in an object.
Thermal energy – is the energy that is
actually contained in an object due to
the motion of its particles.
Temperature - a measure of the average kinetic
energy of the particles in a sample of matter,
expressed in terms of units or degrees
designated on a standard scale. Any of various
standardized numerical measures of this ability,
such as the Kelvin, Fahrenheit, and Celsius scale.
Look at the illustration, what concepts
of heat are being shown in this
picture?
Differentiate Heat and Temperature
TEMPERATURE indicates the direction in
which heat flows while HEAT is the actual
energy being transferred.
