GS1 standards has been closely working with Retail, Healthcare, Agriculture, T&L from over 25 years
to bring in supply chain efficiency, reduce costs, bring visibility and ensure consumer /patient safety.
A few of the major standards-based projects executed by GS1 India include use of Fastag for
electronic toll collection; Wagon tracking by Indian Railways, Traceability of Liquor by Delhi Excise,
Unique Hospital identification registry – ROHINI and many others.

In order to help the industry and government, GS1 India has rolled out services in areas of product
master data management, and traceability systems to help in the various digital transformation

We are currently seeking an Innovation Manager to drive the development of next-generation

product and service offerings in emerging technologies such as Block chain, Artificial Intelligence (AI),
Internet of Things (IoT), and more.

Job Profile:
As an Innovation Manager at GS1 India, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of supply
chain standards and digital solutions. You will be responsible for identifying, developing, and
prototyping innovative products and services that leverage cutting-edge technologies. Your role will
involve collaborating with cross-functional teams, staying up-to-date with industry trends, and
leading the ideation and implementation of innovative solutions. You will work closely with internal
and external stakeholders to drive the adoption of these innovations in the supply chain domain.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Technology Scouting: Stay informed about the latest developments in Blockchain, AI, IoT,
and other emerging technologies relevant to the supply chain industry.
2. Identify potential opportunities for innovation.
3. Ideation and Conceptualization: Work with cross-functional teams to brainstorm and
generate innovative ideas that can address current and future supply chain challenges.
4. Prototyping: Develop proof-of-concept prototypes for new product or service offerings using
relevant technologies. This may include building and testing prototypes, experimenting with
different use cases, and validating concepts.
5. Collaboration: Collaborate with internal teams, technology partners, startups, and other
stakeholders to bring new ideas to life. Build strong working relationships with external
experts in the field.
6. Market Analysis: Conduct research and analysis to assess the feasibility and potential market
demand for innovative solutions.
7. Project Management: Oversee the end-to-end development of innovation projects, from
concept to implementation. Define project milestones, and timelines.
8. Technology Integration: Identify ways to integrate new technologies into GS1 India's existing
products and services to enhance their capabilities.
 9. Evaluation and Testing: Conduct thorough testing and validation of prototypes, gather
feedback from users, and iterate on the solutions to ensure they meet industry standards
and customer needs.
10. Reporting: Provide regular updates to senior management on the progress of innovation
projects, including key performance indicators, risks, and opportunities.

Qualifications and Requirements:

 Master’s degree or Doctorate in a relevant field such as Computer Science, Information

Technology, or engineering
 Proven experience of 2-3 years in managing innovation projects and bringing new products
or services to market.
 Strong understanding of emerging technologies like Block chain, AI, IoT, and their
applications in supply chain management.
 Excellent project management and leadership skills.
 Effective communication and collaboration abilities.
 Analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
 Knowledge of relevant industry standards and best practices.
