The document discusses labor stereotypes, providing examples of common stereotypes such as only men can be leaders, women can only be secretaries, and men cannot be kindergarten teachers. It defines occupational stereotypes as beliefs about the abilities and behaviors of people in different professions based on characteristics like gender. To change these situations, the document suggests trusting peers to do jobs outside typical gender roles, as anyone is capable of performing any job if they have the desire and mentality for it.

Romina Barros Antonia Bravo Professor: Magdalena Aracena introduction Today we will talk about labor stereotypes, with their respective examples and everyday situations, what we think about them and what we believe we can do to change that perspective. what are job stereotypes? Occupational stereotypes are beliefs promulgated about the abilities and behaviors of people in different professions based on characteristics such as gender, age, sexual orientation, etc... Examples: 1. Only men can lead a position in a company. 2. Women can only hold the position of secretary. 3. The job of Kindergarten Education is not for men. 4. Women cannot be civil engineers. How can we change that situation? Simply by trusting our peers, if a person has the mentality and the desire to work in a place even though he/she is not of the gender that is commonly found, we must trust that person because he/she will give more than 100% to be the best in that job. Reflection After seeing all the examples and what labor stereotypes are, we believe that it is simply a long-standing issue in which it was normally seen that women did not have the same capabilities as men for some jobs and vice versa, but now with time we realize that all human beings are capable of everything we set our minds to.
