1. Before the small groups, I will complete lesson 3 of the workbook myself
so that I can understand what students are working on and to see what
their potential mistakes will be.
2. 1:05-1:06: To begin the small group, I will call over the students I will be
working with and will tell them to bring their workbooks and a pencil.
3. When everyone is settled, I will make sure that everyone is on the right
page number.
4. 1:06-1:08: I will ask students how they think they are doing with the
current topic in math (units of measurement conversions). Based on
what they say, I will either be more involved in the instructional group if
the students are struggling, or I will let students work more
independently if they seem to understand the concepts.
5. 1:08-1:10: After I have checked in on how the students are doing, I will
model the first question so that students can see how to do the rest of the
problems. While modeling, I will ask them questions that pertain to the
question to see if they are comprehending what they are telling me. A
question could include “How many ounces are in 1 pound according to
the tape diagram.”
6. 1:10-1:20: After I have modeled the first question, I will encourage
students to work independently through the workbook and I will also
encourage them to ask questions. Students will work through the
assigned problems given by my CT.
7. 1:10-1:20: If I notice any students having trouble with the problems, I
will work with them individually or as a group if it’s multiple students, to
help them find ways to solve the problems.
8. 1:20-1:35: I will repeat these steps with a second group if time permits.
 I will provide positive feedback to students so that they can be
encouraged to keep working on the assignment.

 For students who are not on task, I will point to their workbooks and tell
the student that we should be focusing on math. I will also thank the
students who are on task for working hard.
