promptly.
Problem Analysis: The extent to which the internee was able to comprehend, specify, and find a
solution to the problem by applying principles of mathematics, natural sciences and engineering
sciences.
Initiative and Creativity: The degree to which the internee is self-motivated, seeks out
challenges, approaches and solves problems on his/her own, and develops innovative and
creative ideas/solutions/options.
Investigation: The degree to which the internee can effectively plan and carry out experiments
to investigate problems.
Modern Tool Usage: The degree to which the internee can understand and apply appropriate
techniques, resources, and modern engineering tools.
Organizational Fit: The extent to which the internee understands and supports the
organization’s mission, vision, and goals; adapts to organizational norms, expectations, and
culture; and functions within the appropriate authority and decision-making channels.
Environment and Sustainability: The extent to which the internee was able to perceive how
professional engineering solutions affect societal and environmental contexts and show
awareness of and need for sustainable development.
Character Traits: The extent to which the internee demonstrates a confident and positive
attitude, exhibits honesty and integrity on the job, is aware of and sensitive to ethical and
diversity issues, and behaves in an ethical and professional manner.
Dependability: The degree to which the internee is reliable, follows instructions and appropriate
procedures, is attentive to detail, and requires a supervisor.
Response to Supervision: The degree to which the internee seeks supervision, when necessary,
is receptive to constructive criticism and advice from his/her supervisor, implements suggestions
from his/her supervisor, and is willing to explore personal strengths and areas for improvement.
Attendance and Punctuality: The degree to which the internee reports to work as scheduled
and on time.
Ability to Learn: The extent to which the internee asks relevant questions, seeks out additional
information from appropriate sources, understands new concepts/ideas/work assignments, and is
willing to make needed changes and improvements.
Evaluation Criteria: 50% ratings on or above “Neutral ratings” are required for acceptance of
the internship.
