This is our 5th semester (3rd year, 2023) and after a long time, we have enjoyed a
seminar, organized on 24th November 2023, by our department, Department of
Electronics & Computer Science. The seminar was about ‘RASPBERRY PI’ . The venue
of the seminar was IoT lab at Guru Nanak Institute of Technology, Sodepur.
Approximately, all the students from our batch participated in this session. The whole
session was guided by our teachers, Mrs. Suparna Maity (Asst. Prof.), and Mr. Mrinmoy
Dutta (Technical Asst.).

The session starts at approximately 3’o clock in the afternoon after the lunch break. Since
the beginning of the session, we all were too much excited to be familiarized with
Raspberry Pi. The session begins with the welcome speech of Mrs. Bapita Roy (HOD,
Dept. of Electronics and Computer Science.). Then we were introduced to the trainer Mr.
Shouvik Sarkar(Technical Head of Core Technologies at Ardent Computech Pvt. Ltd.)
by Mrs. Suparna Maity (Asst. Prof.) He addressed us about Raspberry Pi. Raspberry Pi
is a series of small, affordable, single-board computers developed by the Raspberry Pi
Foundation. These credit card-sized boards feature a system-on-a-chip architecture with a
CPU, GPU, RAM, and various I/O ports. It is designed for versatility, supporting projects
ranging from home automation and robotics to media centers and educational
applications. It is low cost, energy efficiency, and a large community of developers
contribute to its popularity as a versatile tool for learning and creating a wide range of
projects. He highlighted the significance of each hardware component, explaining how
the architecture contributes to the flexibility and adaptability of Raspberry Pi in diverse
applications. He explained the coding behind each project and encouraged students to
explore similar applications. Students actively engaged in discussions, sharing their
thoughts on potential projects, and seeking advice on overcoming challenges.

It was the most wonderful, enjoyable, and interactive session. The interactive session on
Raspberry Pi conducted by Mr. Shouvik Sarkar was a resounding success. The
combination of theoretical insights, practical demonstrations, and active students’
engagement contributed to a comprehensive learning experience for all students,
solidifying their understanding of Raspberry Pi and its vast applications. The informative
session culminated with facilitating the trainers and a photo shoot with all students,
professors, and trainers.
