Narrative Report
On January 30 2023, it was the day of my first deployment
as a pre-service and student observer in FIAT
CONSTRUCTION SERVICE under the supervision of
Engr. Arafat P. Guinar. During this time, I was so excited
so see the world of the field I have chosen, finally I have
stepped into the field of engineering. This day is one of the
most remembered days in my stays in this agency, it was
my first time meeting our respected supervisor sir Arafat
Guinar, first time to work with my teammates as group, and
there I became the team leader. My first day at service can
be described as a cheerful day for everything went good
during that day, as a team leader a was so glad that our
application of deployment was hospitably approved by the
general manager of the agency Engr. Farouk Mcarambon
Sr. it never become my burden compared to the other team
that they find it as great challenge being disapproved by
many agencies. I thank the almighty god for making
everything in its at most ease.

During my stays in this agency, I have witnessed the reality

of working as a certified Engineer, the pangs of role you
have to play with, the weight of the responsibilities you
have shoulder, and the crucial decision making you have to
design well. But, despite the challenges brought by this
career, I can say that once a dedicated always be at service.
Therefrom, I realized how bless am in choosing this
profession, maybe I have made the right choice that not
everyone has given the chance to ponder. For me, being
deployed in this agency was a great opportunity and a
blessing to every aspiring future engineering.

Furthermore, during my stays in this agency as a student

observer, I have experienced many things that I have never
experienced before which made me more dedicated to my
chosen field and at the same time developed my personal
growth as an individual. One of the prominent events I can
share as one of my greatest lessons was all the challenges, I
have encountered in this agency. Being a student observer,
it is really hard to commit with the number of hours that we
need to attain in each day. The truth is that, we are not
completely occupied within whole day, we are only given
limited tasks to do. So, most of the time we are just siting
everywhere around the site, and the problem is that we
keep on standing for the whole time because the area is
isolated from infrastructures so, there is no provided tents
or anything to sit with. Another challenge we have
encountered is the fact that the PEACI student observers
were also deployed in the same agency we were in. so, a
little bit competition took place in between the two parties.
It was actually our ego that was being challenge, as an
MSU ones we are under the pressure of bringing the
reputation of the university, but as an MSU ones’ students,
the best thing we could do to mend the gap between us is to
always bring the noble attitudes and show respect to them.
Therefrom, I realized that the more educated you are; the
more bumbler you become.
In addition to, our day-to-day expenses appeared to be one
of our greatest challenges as money served as our flight
ticket to success. In our case, most of my teammates were
currently residing in MSU, whereas the site we were
deployed in was quite far away from our respective homes.
Therein, we have to commute down-town every day, there
are many times that our commute fare became the main
reason of our absences. If not only from the mercy of
Allah, then we would not survive this job, but praise be to
Allah that he bestowed upon the blessings of both financial
and patience, indeed he is all provider. But above all else, I
am so grateful for all the experiences I have had and all the
learnings I have gained from my whole experiences. It
would be forever instilled in my mind and will serve as my
inspiration throughout my journey in the world of
engineering.

Nevertheless, one of my unforgettable events I have

experienced during my stays in this agency was the seminar
workshop with the theme “Hazard awareness”, it highlights
the possible causes of hazards conversely, and the things
we need to do for our own safety. Therefrom, I have
learned about the things that are dangerous for us. We also
learned about the proper usage of different materials and
machines.

Above all else, I thank all the stakeholders that have a great
contribution for the success of this on job training I have
undergone in partial fulfillment for my course. I thank the
almighty Allah subhanallahu wataallah for making it
possible for me. To my instructors, OJT supervisors, and
my teammates more power and may Allah blesses us all.
