A. Meal card and Registration Process
1- What is Meal Card under Flexible benefit plan?
Meal Card is a digital meal voucher in the form of an e-wallet or plastic card, which enables the associates
to enjoy income tax benefits on the purchases at Tech Mahindra cafeterias or meal joints listed by meal card
Vendor.

2- Why should I opt for Meal Card benefit?


This benefit allows you to save tax on the annual amount paid in your Meal Card. As per Income Tax rules,
Meal Card usage is exempt up to maximum of INR 2,200 per month towards your Food bills.
TechM has empanelled Sodexo & Zaggle as Meal Card partners as they provide large pool of offers at various
food joints in addition to tax benefit to our associates.

3- Where should I do the flexi declaration for meal card?


You can follow the below path to opt for Meal card by declaring the amount between INR 100 – 2,200 on
your Flexi Declaration page:
Pace HR > Employee Self Service > Payroll & Compensation > India Pay > Transaction > Flexi Declaration
Please note:
• Meal Card declaration window is open between 06th – 19th of every month for associates to opt for meal
card
• Flexi declaration window will re-open for existing Meal Card users as per the regular process i.e. during
the start of the financial year (April) or if there is any change in the compensation/ compensation
structure.

4- How will I know my eligibility for flexible declararion under meal card?
All the associates based out of India location who have Flexible Pay component in their compensation
structure are eligible for meal card declaration.
5- Why should I declare amount against meal card under flexible benefit plan, is it necessary?
Meal card benefit is a flexible benefit plan to provide tax benefit to the associates. Associates can opt to
avail or not to avail this benefit.

6- When can I declare amount against meal card under flexible benefit plan?
Meal Card declaration window is open between 6th - 19th of every month for associates to opt for meal card.
You can follow the below path to opt for Meal card:
Pace HR > Employee Self Service > Payroll & Compensation > India Pay > Transaction > Flexi Declaration
Flexi declaration window will re-open for existing Meal Card users as per the regular process.
Generally, Flexi declaration window opens only during the start of the financial year or if there is any change
in the compensation/ compensation structure.

7- How can I opt for Sodexo / Zaggle as my preferred meal card service provider?
Once you enter a valid amount in ‘Meal Coupon’ field on ‘Flexi Declaration’ page, you will see an option to
choose the preferred partner for your meal card.

8- What is the amount that I can declare for meal card ?


The maximum amount that can be declared under meal card is INR 2,200 per month. Associate can declare
any amount from INR 100 to INR 2,200 against their meal card component in the flexible allowance basket.

9- What is the effective date of this deduction if I enroll?


Meal Card is part of Flexi Benefit of an associate, thus any opt-in will be applicable from start of Financial
Year i.e., 1st April if you enroll for Meal card benefit anytime during the year. If you opt for this card in
January, deductions will be done for the period of April’21 - Jan’22 from your January salary. For instance
you declared INR 1,000 as monthly Meal Card amount in January, you will observe deduction of INR 10,000
from your January salary and this amount will be added to your Meal card.

10- Can I change my preffered meal card partner?


Yes, you can change your meal card preference at the start of financial year i.e. in April. Once you have
opted for the vendor, you will not be able to change it within the same financial year.

Existing Sodexo users can opt for changing the vendor in April 2022.
11- Can I switch to Zaggle meal card if I am currently using Sodexo meal voucher?
Existing Sodexo users can opt for changing the vendor in April 2022.

12- To whom should I contact for further queries on Meal Card policy?
Please raise a hub request under HR Hub_Salary/Pay (Offshore) > Flexible Benefit category for further
queries. You may also reach out to your respective BHR for any queries related to Meal Card benefit.

B. Sodexo meal card FAQs


1- How to register and activate Sodexo meal card?
Associate needs to apply for Sodexo meal card at PACE using the below path:
Pace HR > Employee Self Service > Payroll & Compensation > India Pay > Transaction > Flexi Declaration
After declarartion, they are automatically registered for the sodexo meal card and will receive a mail from
Sodexo by 1st week of the following month with step by step process for activation of their e-meal card.

2- What is the benefit of opting for sodexo meal card?


Associates can avail tax benefit upto INR 12,000 on meal card declaration. Other then tax benefits, one can
avail different services and offerings by sodexo.

3- Will I receive any physical card in addition to the virtual meal card from Sodexo?
Sodexo provides virtual card as well as physical plastic card accepted at different stores/vendors across the
country.

4- How will I receive my Sodexo meal card?


There are two type of cards

- Virtual Card - Will be activated for associate who will apply for meal card and follow the procedure
mentioned in the activation mail by Sodexo
- Physical Card - Associates can collect the card from dedicated SPOCs from the office. During work from
home period (pandemic), meal card will be sent only to the mailing address provided at the time of
registration.
5- How can I update my address for Sodexo Meal card delivery?
The address for delivery needs to be updated with full details, like pincode and contact number using the
link shared in the Sodexo welcome / card activation mail.
6- Is Sodexo meal card accepted in office cafeteria?
Yes, the cards are accepted by cafeteria Vendors. Both Virtual as well as physical cards are accepted.

7- How can I check my meal card balance?


You can use the Zeta application provided by Sodexo for all balance enquiry and other related information.

8- Once I opt for the card, how will I receive my card details and the steps to activate my card?
As mentioned earlier, you will receive a Welcome Email* containing details of your Sodexo Meal Pass. The
card must be activated online before usage. Activate your card online by following the 2-minute card
activation process:
- Visit the card activation portal https://activation.sodexobrs.com
- Enter your registered email address/ mobile number (the one on which you will receive welcome Email/ SMS)
- Enter the 12-digit card reference number (mentioned in your Welcome Email/ SMS)
- Click on ‘Get Activation Code’
- Provide KYC information
- Enter activation code (received on Email/ SMS)
- Complete OTP-based mobile number verification
- Click on ‘Activate Card’
Once you have activated your Card, download the Zeta App to view your card details.
*Activation emailer or welcome email will be sent from Do-not-reply.in@sodexo.com.

9- Is there a mobile App that I can use to access & utilize my Meal Card digitally?
Sodexo Meal Card integrates with Zeta’s digital platform to offer several benefits. You can download the
Zeta App, once you have activated your card online.
- Steps to link your Sodexo Meal Card with the Zeta mobile app are as follows:
- Download the Zeta app from Play Store / App Store
- Enter the registered Email ID / mobile number which was used during activation
- Enter the OTP received
- Create password
- Enter your app PIN
- Registration successful, your Sodexo Meal Card will be auto-linked
You can now access your card details including CVV, expiry date etc. by tapping on the card on the Zeta App
under the Home Screen. Simply use these details to order online. The PIN required for online payments can be
generated every 2 minutes on the Zeta App.

10- Can I start using the card for online payments, once I have activated it?
Yes, you can start using your card for online payments once you have activated the card and the credit is
loaded. You will need to download the Zeta App, to generate the PIN for making online payments (details
are elaborated in subsequent FAQ pertaining to Zeta App & its benefits). Please check Website for Zeta App
related FAQs.

11- When will my card be loaded with the monthly value chosen?
Sodexo loads the card within 24 working hours* as soon as the amount is credited. Unless there is an issue
with your full KYC - you will receive the amount within 24 hours of credit. (*24 hours = 1 business day)

12- What are the benefits of using the Zeta mobile app?
There are multiple benefits you can enjoy, by downloading the Zeta app on your smartphone:
- Multiple ways to pay: Use your Sodexo Meal Pass at online and offline food stores and pay using:
• QR code - Just scan the QR code at the merchant outlet and punch the amount
• Shop ID - Enter the merchant’s Shop ID and pay
• Zeta code - Click on “Zeta Code”, generate an OTP by tapping on the screen, share the OTP with
the vendor to pay and you’re done!
- Track spends - Real-time in-app notifications on spends and credits
- Dynamic PIN – Generate a new PIN every two minutes on your app to make online payments
- Block and unblock card - Cards can be blocked or unblocked as per your needs
- Replace card – Place an order for a new card to be delivered at your doorstep, if you have misplaced
your existing card
- Integrated food apps - Buy food directly via the integrated food ordering apps
- Merchant outlets - Access the Sodexo Merchant Directory on the app
- Exclusive offers and discounts - Avail exclusive offers and discounts

13- Where can I get a list of outlets that accept Sodexo Meal Pass in my city?
There are two ways to find the merchant directory which contains details of outlets accepting Meal Pass:
- Download the Zeta mobile app and click on the ‘Merchant List’ option to view the list of Sodexo

- Find the Sodexo Merchant Web directory on http://sodexo.live/directory

14- Is my card secured by a transaction PIN?


Yes, the Sodexo Meal Pass is a PIN-based card. You can generate a Dynamic PIN on your own using the Zeta
app. You will receive your static PIN later along with your physical card.

15- How do I check the balance on my Sodexo Meal Pass?


Every time you make a purchase, you will receive an email/ SMS notification stating the updated card
balance. You can also view card balance on the Zeta app on your smartphone or desktop.

16- Are there any limits to the amount that can be loaded on the Sodexo Meal Pass?
The limits for the digital card remain the same as that of current Sodexo meal card. RBI guidelines specify
capturing and validating consumer information for certain value issued on prepaid cards. At the time of
activating the card Sodexo obtains KYC details. Users have an option to either provide minimum details
(mandatory) or complete full KYC (recommended).
- If user provided minimum details the following rules apply:
- Balance on Card (at any point) should be ≤ Rs. 10,000*
- Cumulative credits per month should be ≤ Rs. 10,000*
- Cumulative of debits per month ≤ Rs. 10,000*
- Cumulative load per FY ≤ Rs. 1,00,000*
- Within 12 months from the date of card issuance, the user will need to complete KYC, if not, no further
credit allowed on the card.
- Once the user completes KYC the card can have a balance of up to Rs. 1,00,000*
*Note: These limits are prescribed by RBI and are subject to changes as and when mandated by RBI.
