Conceptual Framework). In explicit terms, the article is about the conceptual framework
designed to analyze the relationship between Total Quality Management (TQM) variables and
individual readiness for change. In doing so objective of the article, methodology used in the
article, key issues discussed in the article, finding or result of the article, and lessons learnt from
the article are discussed below.

2. Objective of the article

The primary objective of the article is to develop a conceptual framework that shows the
relationship between individual readiness for change (dependent variable) and factors affecting
individual readiness for change (independent variables) through proposed empirical study on
Yemeni oil and gas sector companies.

According to the article, independent variables of the study could emerge from Total Quality
Management (TQM) practices.

Therefore, six dimensions of total quality management (TQM) are considered as main factors
affecting individual readiness for change and it includes:
 Human Resource Management
 Top Management commitment
 Process Management

gas sector companies out of the total 11,761 employees in the sector.

6. Possible lessons learnt from the article

The article is about theoretical study (conceptual study) in its nature. Accordingly, the following
theories could be learned from the article.
 The meaning of organizational change and change management
 Meaning and components of Total Quality Management (TQM)
 The three fundamental theories of change such as:
a) Organizational Change Management Theory,
b) Lewin’s Theory, and
c) Theory of Social Exchange

7. Conclusion in line with my understanding

As stated in preceding section, the study is about a conceptual literature in combination with
unfinished empirical study. So that, it is difficult to draw a conclusion about the relationship
between elements of total quality management (TQM) and individual readiness for change as
long as the empirical evidence does not exist.

8. My general impression about the article

First of all, i become interested to review this article because I believe that it would be a quality
team work done by scholars from different discipline. On the contrary, the case area of the study,
Yemeni, is a nation that goes through civil war and endless anarchy. Accordingly, my general
impression about the article is that it is a solid theoretical work supported by unfinished
empirical study and probably to represent the aftermath of civil war and meaningless conflict in
the case area of Yemen.
