Animal Health Support for One Health

➢ What: Ministry of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry & Dairying has


launched World Bank funded Animal Health System Support for
One Health Project under the aegis of National One Health Mission.

• Objective: To create an ecosystem for a better animal health


management system using the One Health approach.

• Duration: 5 years.

• Outlay: It is a Central sector scheme with a financial provision of


Rs.1228.70 Crores.

• Coverage: 151 districts in five participating states – Assam,
Odisha, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra and Karnataka.

• Features:

▪ It will target upgradation of 75 district/regional laboratories,


upgradation/strengthening of 300 veterinary
hospitals/dispensaries

▪ It will train 9000 para-veterinarians/diagnostic professionals and


5500 veterinary professionals.

▪ It will create awareness campaign on prevention of zoonotic


diseases and pandemic preparedness at community level by
reaching out to 6 lakh households

➢ What: Ministry of Tribal Affairs has launched new scheme


“Marketing and Logistics Development for Promotion of Tribal
Products from North -Eastern Region (PTP-NER)”.

• Objective: To strengthen livelihood opportunities for tribal artisans


from NE States through increased efficiency in procurement,
logistics and marketing of tribal products.

• States Covered: Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Manipur,


Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Tripura and Sikkim.

▪ For this, the scheme will provide incubation support,


aggregation, skill and entrepreneurship development,
sourcing and procurement, marketing, transportation and

• As a part of it, empanelment of tribal artisans from NER will be


done by organizing 68 Tribal Artisan Melas (TAMs) in April –May
2023 at various districts of NER.
