B. PROJECT SUMMARY

Project summary should not be more than 300 words.

The heart rate sensor is a critical component of devices used to monitor heart rate. It is
expected to be precise and straightforward to use while providing real-time information on
the heart rate of the user. The notification function, a customizable feature of the sensor,
enables users to set their preferred threshold for heart rate and the type of notification they
receive. This feature is particularly beneficial to people who engage in physical activities
regularly or have heart conditions that require continuous monitoring of their heart rate. By
providing immediate feedback on heart rate, this heart rate sensor could prevent overexertion,
reduce the risk of injury, and promote overall heart health. The heart rate sensor is an
important feature for monitoring heart rate that should be easy to operate and deliver accurate
results instantly. The sensor's customizable notification feature enhances its usefulness by
enabling users to set their desired heart rate threshold and receive notifications according to
their preferences. This functionality can benefit individuals who are into physical activities,
such as athletes or fitness enthusiasts, as well as individuals with heart conditions who
require frequent monitoring of their heart rate. Ultimately, by providing immediate and
accurate feedback on heart rate, this heart rate sensor could assist in preventing overexertion,
reducing the risk of injury, and promoting overall heart health.

The rise in missing persons during outdoor activities and unexpected deaths caused by heart
attacks has prompted the need for new technologies to help prevent such incidents. By
monitoring the wearer's heart rate and location in real-time using smartwatch, the device can
alert designated individuals if an abnormal heart rate reading is detected or if the wearer
becomes lost or disoriented. This technology has the potential to significantly reduce the
number of missing person cases and prevent deaths caused by heart attacks, particularly for
those who engage in physical activities alone or while sleeping. This project proposes the use
of smartwatches equipped with GPS and heart rate monitoring functions as a solution.

C. PROBLEM STATEMENT AND OBJECTIVES

Describe the problem and state the objectives of the project.

i. Problem Statement
Monitoring heart rate is crucial for leading a healthy lifestyle, especially while
engaging in physical activity. Designing a heart rate sensor with a notification
feature that warns users when their heart rate exceeds a specific threshold is
hence the issue statement. Users should be able to access real-time heart rate
data from the heart rate sensor, and it should be accurate and simple to use.
The notification feature needs to be adaptable so that users may choose their
desired heart-rate threshold and the kind of notification they want to receive.
Those who routinely participate in physical activity, such as sports or fitness
fanatics, as well as people with heart issues who need to monitor their heart rate
carefully, might benefit from this heart rate sensor with a notification feature.
This heart rate monitor might help avoid overexertion, lower the chance of
damage, and improve general heart health by giving users instant feedback on
their heart rate.

ii. Objectives
I. to develop IOT based smartwatch that able to alert other users if heart
rate reading is abnormal.
II. to design a system that able to provide gps location and heart rate
reading to another user in emergency situation.

D. PROJECT METHODOLOGY

State clearly the procedure and method that will be used to achieve the project
objectives.

iii. Detail Description of the Project Methodology

I. Establish the project's goals and scope: Clearly state the issue that the
project is intended to address, such as monitoring the user's pulse rate
and alerting them if it rises over a specified limit. Specify the objectives
of the project, such as creating a dependable, usable prototype.
II. Do a feasibility study: Examine the project's viability by learning about
the most recent developments in heart rate sensors and alerting systems.
Assess any possible technical difficulties, such as measurement
accuracy issues, battery life issues, and wireless connectivity issues.
III. Specify the criteria: Define the functional and non-functional
requirements of the heart rate sensor with notification function based on
the scope and feasibility assessment. For instance, the gadget should be
capable of taking precise heart rate readings, storing the information,
and sending alerts to the user's smartphone through Wi-Fi.
IV. Create a design strategy: Make a design plan that describes the heart rate
sensor's parts and architecture. This may entail picking the
microcontroller, battery, wireless module, and other components, as well
as the heart rate sensor module. Design the software architecture,
including the heart rate measurement, data storage, and alerting
methods.
V. Create a functional prototype: Using the parts listed in the design plan,
create a working prototype of the heart rate sensor. To confirm that the
prototype satisfies the functional and non-functional criteria listed in the
requirements document, test it.
VI. Perform user testing to get input on the usability, dependability, and
efficiency of the prototype. Adapt as appropriate considering user input.
