First of all, let’s say thanks to Allah SWT. Who has given us mercy
and blessing so that we can complete this paper with the title “Labuhan
Batu ”.
Secondly, Shalawat and greetings we give to the great prophet
Muhammad SAW, who has brought us from darkness to the brightness,
from the Jahiliyyah era to the Islamic era.
Beside that we would like to say thanks to our lecturer Ummi
Yusni Sinaga, S.Pd., M.Hum. as a lecturer who has guided us in the
subject English for Tourism, Travel, and Tourism Industry. Hopefully this
paper will useful for us all.
We are very grateful for being able to finish the paper entitled “
Labuhan Batu”. And we realize that this paper still has many
shortcomings. Therefore, we sincerely hope for constructive criticism and
suggestion from various parties to improve this paper. We hope this paper
can be useful for readers, especially adding insight into the Research in
English Language Teaching, thus may Allah Swt gives us strength and

 LABUHAN BATU
1. The Specific Area
Labuhan batu is a district in the province of North Sumatra, Indonesia. The
capital of this district is located in Rantau Prapat. In 2021, the population of
Labuhan batu Regency will be 499,982 people, with a density of 195
people/km². Labuhan batu Regency is famous for its palm oil and rubber
plantations. Labuhan batu Regency has a quite strategic position, namely
being on the eastern route of Sumatra and at the intersection of the provinces
of West Sumatra and Riau, which connects regional development centers in
Sumatra and Java and has adequate access abroad because it directly borders
the Strait. Malacca. Two large Sultanates once stood here, namely the Bilah
Sultanate with its capital in Negeri Lama and the Panai Sultanate with its
capital in Labuhan Bilik. Initially, the number of sub-districts in this district
was 22 sub-districts. With the formation of North Labuhanbatu Regency and
South Labuhanbatu Regency, the number of sub-districts in this regency
became 9 sub-districts. Following are the names of the sub-districts:

(b) Bilah hilir
(c) Bilah hulu
(d) Panai hilir
(e) Panai hulu
(f) Panai tengah
(g) Pangkatan
(h) Rantau Selatan
(i) Rantau Utara

3. Culinary
Labuhan batu Regency is in one of the expansion areas of Labuhan batu
Regency. With Aek Kanopan known as the capital. This location is on the
Sumatra route, of course it is one of the advantages that can help improve the
economy of the surrounding community. One of them is in the culinary
sector. Because of course there will be many people who stop by this place to
rest while enjoying its typical dishes. For those who are curious about the
typical culinary delights of North Labuhan batu, don't worry. Because there
are many culinary traders who can easily be found.
So, here are 5 typical North Labuhanbatu foods that you can enjoy. Come on,
check it out!

(a) Anyang Terubuk

Anyang Terubuk is one of the typical foods of North Labuhan batu.

This dish is made from Terubuk Fish which is served complete with
fish eggs which are first dried before cooking. Unique, right? Anyang
Terubuk is also prepared by sprinkling the fish with a spicy
concoction. Anyang terubuk is very delicious eaten with warm rice.
The pleasure is felt in the tenderness of the fish meat combined with
super tasty spices. The price of this basic food ingredient is quite
expensive, around IDR 200 thousand-IDR 250 thousand per kilogram.

(b) Anyang chicken

 The next typical food from North Labuhan batu is Anyang Ayam.
This food is made from grilled and shredded chicken. Shredded
chicken mixed with vegetables. The delicious taste of grilled chicken
combined with grated, roasted coconut and complemented with
roasted coriander and ground spices, don't forget to add lime juice and
sliced shallots, will certainly add to the enjoyment of Anyang Ayam.

(c) Baung fish sour curry

The next typical food from North Labuhan batu is made from Baung
Fish. The taste comes from the use of typical local spices as the basic
seasoning. The tenderness of the Baung Fish meat combined with the
savory taste makes this dish popular. Not only by local people, but
also travelers who come on culinary tours. If you want to eat this dish
from its origin, Baung Fish Sour Curry traders are very easy to find
around the Kualuh River suburbs.

(d) Anchovy peanut brittle

The next food is a dry snack called peanut brittle. This food is
made from anchovies and tapioca flour. This food can be enjoyed and
used as a side dish to accompany rice. The taste is delicious and the
aroma of anchovies increases your appetite, you know.

 (e) Anyang is wild

Next, the typical food that you can find in North Labuhanbatu is
Anyang savage-buas. This food can be enjoyed and used as a side dish
to accompany rice. This food is the same as anointed food. The
difference is, it only uses shoots from wild leaves which only exist in
the Labuhanbatu area.

These are some typical North Labuhanbatu foods that may be quite
difficult to find in other areas. So, when traveling to North Labuhan batu,
don't miss out on trying the dishes.

4. The Data of Boarding Schools and Hotels

a. The Data of Boarding Schools
List of Islamic Boarding Schools in Labuhan Batu Regency
Among others;

1. Daarul Muhsinin
The Daarul Muhsinin Islamic Boarding School is located at
Janjimanahan Kawat. Apart from that, this Islamic boarding school
has quite a large number of students, namely 918 students.
Meanwhile, the number of ustadz who teach is around 42 people.

2. Amiruddiniyah
The Amiruddiniyah Islamic Boarding School is located at
Jl. Purbasari. The number of students at Pondok Amiruddiniyah is
379 students. Meanwhile, the number of ustadz reached 21 people.

3. Ath-Thohiriyah Gunung Selamat

The Ath-Thohiriyah Gunung Selamat Islamic Boarding
School is located at Jln. Lintas Sumatra No. 29 - 30. Apart from

 that, this Islamic boarding school also has up to 183 students with
12 ustadz guiding them.

4. Al-Ma`shum Rantauprapat Foundation

The Al-Ma`shum Rantauprapat Foundation Islamic
Boarding School is located at Jl. Sm. Raja No.53 Burnt Stone.
There are around 198 students at this Islamic boarding school with
14 teachers.

5. Raudlatul Uluum Salafiyah Islamic Boarding School

The Raudlatul Uluum Salafiyah Islamic Boarding School is
located at Jl. Bambu Kuning Cinta Makmur Aek Nabara. The
number of students at the Raudlatul Uluum Salafiyah Islamic
boarding school is around 149 people. Meanwhile, the number of
ustadz who teach is 11 people.

6. Addinussyarifiah
The Addinussyarifiah Islamic Boarding School is located at
Jl. Tanjung Harapan No. 15

7. Nurul Falah Boarding School

The Nurul Falah Labuhan Batu Islamic Boarding School is
located at Unnamed Road, Huta Godang, Kanan River, South
Labuhan Batu Regency, North Sumatra 22756, Indonesia. This
Boarding School is one of the Islamic boarding schools in Labuhan
Batu Regency. The teaching and learning at this Islamic boarding
school use the applicable curriculum plus religious knowledge.
There are also extracurricular school activities for students such as
karate, basketball, futsal, study groups and others. Nurul Falah has
uztad/uztazah teaching staff and teachers who are competent in
their respective subject areas so that they are of high quality and
become one of the best Islamic boarding schools in Labuhan Batu
Regency. There are also various facilities available such as
comfortable classrooms, comfortable dormitories, practical
laboratories, libraries, sports fields, canteens, mosques and others.

b. The Data of Hotels

The following is a list of hotels and accommodation in
Labuhan Batu:

1. Permata Land Hotel & Resort

 Permata Land Hotel & Resort is located at Jl. Gen. Ahmad
Yani No.133, Kartini, North Rantau, Labuhanbatu Regency, North
Sumatra 21411. This hotel is close to various tourist attractions and
close to public transportation to the Rantauprapat train station
which is only 5 minutes from the hotel location. This hotel has
various adequate facilities such as free internet, air conditioner
(AC) and is equipped with a swimming pool at this hotel as well as
several other facilities that comply with general facility standards.
Rates for staying at Permata Land Hotel & Resort only start from
IDR. 137,000 per night.

2. Hotel Suzuya Plaza

Hotel Suzuya Plaza is located at Jl. Jend Ahmad Yani
No.102, Kartini, Rantau Utara, Labuhanbatu Regency, North
Sumatra 21411. This hotel has 2 types of rooms starting from a
standard twin room with 1 (one) single bed at a price of Rp.
370,000 and a deluxe single room with 1 (one) single bed at a price
of Rp. 479,000. The hotel is close to various tourist attractions
starting from the Sapadia Boomerang waterfall and Linggahara
waterfall as well as the 45 Lobusona Juang Monument. This hotel
has a strategic location because it is located in the middle of
Rantau Prapat city, this hotel is also located at Suzuya department
store and supermarket. Rates for staying at the Suzuya Plaza hotel
only start from Rp. 370,000 per night.

3. Wisma Syariah Kampung Baru

Wisma Syariah is located at Jl. Syukur Kartini, North
Rantau, Labuhanbatu Regency, North Sumatra 21411. This hotel is
highly recommended for family tourists who want to spend their
holidays in Labuhan Batu, and this location has a comfortable
atmosphere at a fairly cheap price. This hotel has various facilities
ranging from free internet facilities, as well as 24-hour security
facilities and air conditioner (AC) facilities and also has a child-
friendly environment. Rates for staying at the Syariah guesthouse
hotel only start from IDR. 137,000 per night.

4. Gunung Sari Hotel

Gunung Sari Hotel is located at Jl. Imam Bonjol, Rantau
Prapat, Rantau Utara, Labuhanbgatu Regency, North Sumatra
21411. This hotel has a strategic location because it is close to
various means of public transportation and has an easily accessible
location. This hotel has various adequate facilities ranging from air

conditioner, free internet and security parking facilities provided to
visitors. Rates for staying at the Gunung Sari hotel only start from
Rp. 169,000 per night.

5. Green house
Green House is located at JI. Fir No. 89-131, Padang
Matinggi, Rantau Utara, Labuhanbatu Regency, North Sumatra
21411. This hotel has an easily accessible and strategic location
and has a beautiful environment as the name of the hotel suggests.
This hotel has 2 (two) types of rooms, namely standard rooms
priced at Rp. 105,000 and deluxe rooms are priced at Rp. 119,000.
Both rooms have free wi-fi facilities provided by the hotel.
Another advantage of this hotel is that it is close to public
transportation. Rates for staying at the Green House start from Rp.
142,000 per night.

6.Platinum Hotel
Platinum Hotel is located at Jl. BC. King, No. 28-30,
Sioldengan, Rantau Selatan, Rantau Prapat, Labuhanbatu Regency,
North Sumatra 21418. This hotel has an easily accessible location
and a comfortable and child-friendly environment. This hotel has
various facilities, such as facilities generally found in hotels
ranging from free WiFi, air conditioner, toiletries, security
facilities and other facilities that meet standards. This hotel has
various types of rooms starting from superior rooms priced at Rp.
340,000 per night and deluxe rooms are priced at Rp. 380,000 per
night. Rates for staying at the Platinum hotel start from Rp.
310,000 per night.

7.Wisma Putri Deli Hotel

Wisma Putri Deli Hotel is located at Rantau Prapat, JI SM
Raja, No. 65, Bakaran Batu Rantau Selatan, Labuhanbatu Regency,
North Sumatra 21411. This hotel has an easily accessible location
and is very suitable for someone who travels to rest here. This
hotel has standard facilities in general using air conditioner (AC)
and a comfortable and quiet environment. The rate for staying at
the Putri Deli hotel guesthouse is Rp. 150,000 per night.

8. Wisma Niagara Hotel

Wisma Niagara hotel is located at Jl. BC. Raja, Gang
Diponegoro, Rantau Utara, Labuhanbatu Regency, North Sumatra
21411. This hotel is relatively cheap per night starting from.

 80,000 for a standard room. It has various facilities ranging from
security facilities, service facilities provided by the hotel for
visitors. This hotel has various types of rooms with quality and
services provided at different price levels.
