INTRODUCTION

The last phase of the Pre – Service Teachers’ formation which is

termed INTERNSHIP WORK is a 400 – hrs (8 – hour whole day training) in
a public / private school of their choice and approved by the Formator /
Dean.

The daily account of this 400 – hrs / 50 day internship work has to be
recorded in a journal to document the Pre – Service Teachers’ experiences
which has to be authenticated by evaluation rubrics prepared by the
Formator / Dean and accomplished by each Cooperating Teacher who
assigns specific learning tasks, supervises, observes and rates the day–to–
day performance of the Pre – Service Teacher under him / her.

At the end of their Internship work, a COMPLETION CERTIFICATE

jointly signed by the School Principal and Teacher Formator / Dean is
awarded each of the trainees. In a simple but meaningful ceremony to
signify and formally end the almost 3 – month practicum work.
